Remember when there was talk about NFL Films working with the Union to put out those end-of-season review DVDs? What's the antithesis of this?
the schedule for May (and this week)... my "optimistic" predictions @LA - L RBNY - L @DC - D HOU - D COL - W RSL - L Heading into June with 8 points and start the month off with a loss at Yankee Stadium.
I could see us easily losing the next four straight, but good news, we should be able to get at least 2 points from Colorado and RSL.
So what are the odds that we break the record for longest winless streak? Colorado currently holds the record at 18. Seems fitting we could break the record playing them.
What I'm thinking would be the best case scenarios for the Union this week: Tonight: Orlando over Toronto Kansas City over Red Bulls Saturday: Seattle over Toronto Montreal over DC Columbus draw New England Houston over Orlando LA over Chicago Sunday: NYCFC over Atlanta and the obvious Union 3 points. table would be: Orlando - 21 Red Bull - 16 NYCFC - 16 Columbus - 14 Toronto - 13 Atlanta - 11 --------------------------------- Chicago - 11 DCU - 11 Revs - 11 Impact - 10 Union - 7 #FanFiction
Sorry to ask here but I can't find anything on the Union web site...which weak-ass English team are we playing as a friendly this year?
Nah but doesn't matter. I'm just trying to give my 'extra' ticket away but there is no listing of team or date anywhere that I can find. Some unpaid intern is gonna be in BIG trouble!
hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahaha... oh man... this would be so unbelievably Union...........
All things considered, things went pretty damn well across the league last week. My best case scenarios for this coming week: Wednesday: Toronto over Columbus Saturday: Minnesota over TFC Montreal draw Columbus KC over Orlando Salt Lake over Revs Seattle over Chicago Sunday: Portland over ATL Galaxy over Red Bull Dallas over NYC and of course the Union beating DC on Saturday. Would put the table at: TFC - 22 Orlando - 18 NYCFC - 16 Crew - 17 Red Bull - 16 Chicago - 12 ------------------------- Atlanta - 12 DCU - 11 Impact - 11 Revs - 10 Union - 10 still in fan fiction territory, but suddenly things aren't looking quite as grim. I think ATL will keep fading, going out to Portland will be tough for them. Chicago is going to have issues traveling to Seattle, Montreal isn't convincing, will be interesting to see if the Galaxy can get their shit together against Red Bulls, and NYCFC have a tough away game at Dallas.... I mean, holy crap, I'm starting to get a touch optimistic, must still be on Saturday's high. Had trouble deciding best case scenarios for the Columbus games, but realistically we probably aren't catching them or Toronto... Montreal is in striking distance... them only picking up 1 point isn't the end of the world if we were to win Saturday.
What came first, the BigSoccer or the misery? Did I post on BigSoccer all goddamn day because I was miserable? Or was I miserable because I posted on BigSoccer all goddamn day.
Chicago over Seattle 4-1... not the outcome we wanted... the gap between the U and the playoffs is still quite large at 5 points... let's hope Atlanta loses tomorrow and stays in position for a potential leap frog up towards the 8 spot. Mediocre outcomes this week... the climb to the line is still at 5 points, but we are now in a position where we are now in a decent position to pull level with or pass some of the outsiders this coming week and mathematically we could get over the playoff line. Best case scenarios: 2 Union wins. (Obviously) And... Wed: Rapids over Chicago Salt Lake over NYC Quakes over Orlando Fri: TFC over Red Bull Sat: Timbers over Impact DCU over Fire Dynamo over ATL Sun: Crew tie Revs Orlando over NYC That's a tall order.... honestly I think the opposite of most of that will happen....but it would put the fan fiction table at: TFC: 28 Lions: 22 Crew: 20 NYC: 17 Zolos: 16 RBNY: 16 ---------------------- Fire: 15 DCU: 14 Revs: 14 ATL: 12 MTL: 10
I've a tough time seeing us beating Houston. But a while back I said this was the soft part of the schedule. If they picked up 2 points in the next 2, I'm ok with it. I know they should win at Le Fortress Delaware, but this team seems to only pick up points if everything aligns. Elliot may get a nosebleed, or Fafa could have some bad falafel and we're toast. The Crapids can be had. So naturally we'll beat Houston 4-0 and lose to Colorado 0-1.
