Blake is captaining Jamaica tonight. Not sure that if that's happened before, but good for him.

He's captained both of Jamaica's Gold Cup games.

    Yup! Pumped for the doubleheader.

You can totally tell that AO is in the house when game ends and all of a sudden hundreds of bros stream in who have no idea they missed the first match.

Or they just did not care about the first game.... I know I didn't.. casually watched it in the bar.

There's just a disconnect for me when people are so rabidly for the national team but not at all interested in watching two of its top regional rivals go head to head. It's not like it cost more. Casual fan? Sure, skip it, but this is the hardcore of American soccer support.

I enjoyed hanging in the parking lot, throwing washers with my son, and catching up with US soccer friends that I havent seen in awhile. but apparently that isn't the proper way to attend a game

It all comes down to whether you're the kind of person who says:

    A. "Let's check out the opening act. Not familiar with them but they might be good."

    OR

    B. "Let's hang in the parking lot and tailgate until we hear the crowd roar and the opening notes to the first song."

If you're the former (me), you saw at least part of the first game last night. If you're the latter (@slitz ), you didn't. Not better, not worse, just different.

Yeah, and nothing wrong with that. It was really more of an observation about the group as a whole.

Well you also have to remember that being a fan of the USMNT is the cool thing nowadays and for many being a member of AO is more about reliving their college days then actually having anything to do with Soccer. For many of them it's just an excuse to get together and get falling down drunk and take selfies in the stadium. At least that was how it was at the Copa America game.

Yeah, totally. My impression is that those kids are a really distinct group from the USMNT lifers/Euro fans/MLS supporters that also show up to these games.

The fact that they chant "I believe that we will win!" and "You can't do that!" tells you all you need to know about the AOs

"You can't do that" and "suck on my balls" are 2 of the loudest chants from the SOBs. What does that tell ya?

What a match for Blake tonight against Mexico. Now I have to strangely root against him on Wednesday night.

He's also not going to be playing in Chester for very much longer :(

    Get used to local helmet.

He was impressive tonight. I was hoping they would not win so we could get him back. Wednesday will be a busy night.

We'll never get to see how Union management would have wasted the transfer money.

Whatever transfer fee Dallas ends up getting for selling Acosta should go straight to the Union.

Damn, that looked like an injury that will require hardware to fix. McCarthy will probably be the starting keepers the rest of the year. Who's his backup?

Godspeed for Blake's recovery. If anyone deserves some divine intervention it's Blake
