What do you think Curtin's FIFA17 career manager mode settings are? Granted he's on pro or better for budget. Club expectations- Develop two youth players and get them in 50% of matches. Finish mid table. Make the cup quarterfinals. End the transfer window with at least $1M in budget left over in case Mrs Sugarman remodels the kitchen. Something like that. If it's in the game...
I like what NHL and NFL do and have the school yard approach. Also I'd love to see a skills challenge the day be the ASG.
Not that anyone gives a shit about the Pro Bowl. ASG works better for superstar oriented sports like the NBA or NHL, IMO. Soccer and football require way more understanding of your teammates.
I'd say single table without pro/ rel is the worst . Playoffs are necessary for fanbases like ours to have something to hope for. Without playoffs (or fear of relegation) no one would give a shit by like June 1st in 70% of MLS markets When I was a kid I thought ASGs were awesome, I watched all of them every year. So maybe its still like that for kids
I think it was more a product of how uncertain the left back situation is. Arena kept Beasley, Villafana, and Garza which is a stupid amount of left backs to have but that #1 spot is completely up for grabs. I think Keegan would have made the cut otherwise.
Yeah, good point. And it does make a ton of sense to figure out early if Zusi can be the #2 RB on a World Cup roster.
Heard an interview with Arena today, he specifically mentioned Rosenberry as a guy he is looking at for the Gold Cup. Got the impression that he was never really going to be considered for the A squad (yet)
Pontius just came on for Bedoya. Believe that is the first time we've had two players play in a senior USNT game.
Other way around tonight. Bedoya on for Pontius. I was hoping for more out of Pontius when I heard that he was starting tonight. It seemed like he was getting in betters spots right before he was subbed out. Bedoya is a guy that I've been trying to defend on the wing for the usmnt for the past few years. However, I'm starting to wonder if he can ever be more than a hustle guy there. If that's the case, we may have some slightly younger guys that could play that role as well. The interesting question, as always, is whether Bedoya is a better option as a winger or central midfielder for the national team. Looks like Arena gave Bedoya some time in the middle tonight and, while it wasn't for long, he didn't have a huge impact from there either.
How'd Blake look? I missed the first half since I had to work late. Also, I think this may have been the most Union players to play in an national team game.
I'm going to refer you to our Stupid Stat Fun thread from early in the offseason. It's the most current Union players (3)in the same international match. I think it may also be the most current Union players in a USMNT match, again, at 2.
Actually, I just remembered that he did make a nice save low on a Jordan Morris shot. Other than that, I don't recall him having much to do.
The way that Jones has been playing, it is possible if not likely that he will be selected to play in the U-20 World Cup in Korea from 5/22-28. If so, he would miss at least 3 games and more if the US gets out of the group stage. (Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he is eligible to play because Jones turned 20 this month.)
