Union Gear & Swag Catch-All [PART 4]

What am I looking for

 

All Adidas team stuff has a manufacture date. Go look at a random jersey you own. It will have a date. And the manufacture date on the tag of this thing is 2011.

I'm thinking this is either some bizarre knockoff or a rejected sample from a few years ago.

 

Yeah, its interesting looking at that. What I thought was intriguing was that it uses a current design template, the more recent Union design motifs like the snake, and this year's authentic adidas stripes rather than the bonded ones used from 2010. I think it is likely a design sample but it could suggest the direction next year's shirt is going.

 

The Union got these discounted from Adidas HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Your detective prowl can only get you so far. How do you explain this on the sleeves?

 

My guess is it's a sample made, using old pieces. That neck is raggedy as shit

 

Adidas did not use that template in 2011 though. The also didn't have an adizero jersey and the type of shirt wasn't labeled in that lowercase font back then. There are lots of very strange contradictions on this one.

 

Which is why its probably some weird Chinese knockoff.

The neckline is an exact copy of the 2011 away shirt though.

Though it's probably a knockoff, I do like the white shirt with gold trim as a concept though, and hope the team goes with it next year.

 

such a shame that the last home game of the year is tomorrow and we are discussing Chinese knock offs of potential 2015 kits

 

Rally House in East Gate shopping center in Mt Laurel/Moorestown had a huge selection of Union stuff. Full sweats, tees, flags, chairs, even gift wrap. Everything seemed full pricish, but some pint glasses were only a few bucks.

Given what Orlando's jersey looks like, I'd say the white shirt above looks closer to authentic every day.

My son has that ebay shirt. After looking at it closely, comparing it to the 2014 shirt, and seeing all of the fine detail, if it is not the 2015 away, then it is definitely a contender. It is not a knockoff. The one really cool thing about the white shirt, is that the area where the center stripe would be is filled with subtle white stars.
