Is it a legit excuse... ? The thread's Executive Board must vote about this….. to accept it… or not….
Down goes St. John's, in double OT at Maryland! Virginia needs OT to dispose of WMU and remain unbeaten, untied.
I imagine there has never been in a time in history that two Final Four teams from the previous year start the season at 0-10-2 as have Akron and Michigan State. Shows you how fragile teams are at this level with injuries, playing challenging schedules and the parity among teams. Two great programs with great coaches who I'm sure will find their form as the season moves on.
St. John's did not get one call in the Maryland game. The goal that was scored was a goal kick and not a corner, the throw-in before that was St. John's possession not Maryland. (All Lead to the goal) Just some thoughts: Indiana outplayed Butler, but that's soccer. Its getting difficult to win away especially with local officials, etc...
I believe they play each other next month, too. It will be interesting to see each team's records and if they've rebounded by then.

Akron is 0-7 now. They let Cornell press them 60 of the 90, just because. They totally lack confidence.

So James Madison, which made the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament last year, has now given two teams their only loss of the season. JMU upset Wake Forest a couple of weeks ago and last night they upended Cal State Fullerton to drop them from the undefeated ranks. After starting the season with a pair of losses, the Dukes are 8-2-0 and up to No. 10 in the RPI. And in two weeks they travel to UVa, which may still be undefeated when they get there. Could be a really interesting match.
Stanford drops its first of the season, losing to Washington, which is coached by a Stanford grad. Here's who is still without a loss heading into October's first weekend... Interesting thread. Harvard winless is interesting. I wouldn't want to play a group of Navy guys going for an undefeated season.
