Considering that this is a Dutch C-team v a Ukrainian A-team were doing pretty good! Vlaar and Janssen in particular.

Bruma clearly not used yet to this level of football. Our forwards are also looking mediocre. Still good enough to completely neutralise the Ukraine who are rubbish if you ask me.

My thoughts also. I think we've got some good young defenders coming through the ranks (though Vlaar would have gone to the WC had he been healthy). Bruma will gain experience with this match. I'm surprised that Ukraine doesn't seem to have much of a clue on attack. We'll see what happens in the second half.

I noticed one worrying thing about Bruma: he is seriously slow. He'll really need to improve that aspect of his game.

These forwards haven't a chance in hell of getting into Holland proper any time soon. The only serious candidates out of this lot are Vlaar, Janssen, Brama and Anita.

I didnt think Vlaar played all that well, he was caught out once which couldve been 1-0. Marcellis has been decent so far IMO

Lens is OK (I'd rather have Van Nistelrooy back mind).

I disagree, I think Vlaar is looking good. Will likely replace Ooijer in the squad.I also think Janssen is making a serious case for himself.

And we don't have to worry about goalkeepers!

That Timoshuk could've been sent off for that challenge on Janssen in the first five minutes. High time he got a yellow. I hope De Jong is OK.

De Jong's leg looked to be making a 90 degree turn...LOL
    He's ok though.

    Vorm great save!!

1-1, bit of a Vorm mistake but I'll forgive him.

I think Stekelenberg saves it. Player I'm impressed with is Maduro; solid possession and is moving forward. BvM seems to be pushing both defensive mids forward. Good to see!

I seriously think he's in the squad proper. There's a reason why he's still on the pitch.

Yes Maduro is looking good. Good for him as he's one of the players Van Marwijk inexplicably ignores generally.

He should at the very least be on the bench. Ditto for Maduro

Anybody think that Lens is Babel 2.0? Loves to run through traffic, only to hit the wall in the end, and fumble over ... frustrating to watch! Fer is a beast, has been winning all 50-50 challenges. Maduro and Janssen are very good, exceeding expectations!

I agree on all points. Lens is net niet just like Babel. Van Wolfswinkel made no impression whatsoever.

I'm loving Fer. And I already loved Janssen of course.

Overall a very refreshing game of football even if we end up losing it!
