The fighters on the card so far are

    BJ Penn v TBN

    Kara Parisyan v TBN

Too bad it was not against each other.

The bolded match is going to be for the lightweight title. If Sean Sherk gets a one-year suspension for roids as is expected, he'll be stripped of the belt and Penn will be fighting someone to fill the vacant title. Joe Stevenson would be my guess.

Why not a light weight tournament like they did years ago spread out over time? The 2 finalists of the tournament fight each other for the Light weight championship of the UFC. Serra, Penn and Thomas was in that last tournament.

By that time could bring in the Japanese fighters. There are a ton of good fighters in the light weight devision as you know.

You can have a UFC 81 the light wt championship tournament

That'd be my guess as well. It could be an interesting fight and Daddy could be a formidable opponent for BJ. Or I could see BJ dominating it.

That'd be great but I don't think the way UFC is trying to grow itself right now would fit into a tourney style. But I think they could do it in the future and it'd be great.

For some unknown reason they have taken BJ Penn off this card and moved him to the Dec card. Maybe Penn v Stevenson for the light wt championship to go along with hughes v Serra for the welter weight.

I nice Christmas gift for the fans.

Card as of friday 26 Oct. :

    Bisping v. Evans

    Thiago silva V. Houston Alexander

    David Terrell v. Ed Herman

    Ryo Chonan V. Karo Parisyan

    Frank Edgar v. Spencer Fisher

The Main event is uninspiring but there are a lot of exiting/interesting fighters on this card. I wonder who else will be fighting on this card.

Title edited to specify the date/location of the show.

I'll likely not be home to watch this one, but am going to try to watch it out somewhere. So the [R] is up now to talk about during the show if you so choose and certainly afterwards.

No marquee title match (thanks to Sean Sherk allegedly getting nailed for drugs - and his hearing with the California State Athletic Commisison has been postponed to 11/13), but the listed fights could all be really, really good.

Re: Up comming UFC 78 bought in Nov. in New Jersey

Terrell's out with an ankle sprain/ligament tear, and is being replaced by Joe Doerksen, which probably makes it an even better fight.

Here's what we have so far:

    Live matches:
    Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping
    Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva
    Joe Doerksen vs. Ed Herman
    Karo Parisyan vs. Ryo Chonan
    Frank Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher

    Taped matches:
    Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
    Marcus Aurelio vs. Luke Caudillo
    Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt
    Thiago Alves vs. Chris Lytle

This should be one hell of a show.

    Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva

Houston had no on his back defense. Once Silva got him in the full mount it was over. Silver knocked Houston out from the top position easily. It was an easy fight for Silva.

    ---------------------
    Karo Parisyan vs. Ryo Chonan

Karo won easily but was upset because it was a boring fight for the fans. He was happy with the win but said he was sorry it was a boring fight for the fans.
    ---------------------
    Frank Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher

Wow Edgar really handled Fisher easily. Fisher could not stay on his feet long enough to throw those punches a big part of his game. Edgar has beautiful take downs.

Edgar could not really hurt Spenser on the top. But he was always on top. Fisher could never do any attacking from the bottom and he was never on top of Edgar in the fight when it went to the ground, and it always was on the ground.

Edgar won easily for his sheer number of take downs of Fisher that he had.

I did not think anyone could do that to Fisher.

Edgar fights Huerta Edgar can win.

    ------------------------

The main event was not really a main event. Bishop lost big deal.

I thought the Main Event was a pretty good fight actually. Maybe not a main event but it had more entertaining moments that a lot of fights do. Bisping was the more agressive fighter, got the escape after most takedowns and did more from his back then Evans did on top. I felt he had a good chance at winning. Rashad Evans is quick becoming the master at "Lay & Pray". He has nothing but takedowns. His hands are ok but man what a boring fighter. He really doesn't have much of a ground game either.
