Really? I didn't remember that! Well, yesterday's result vs Finland could stir some debate on the US boards. If anyone was aware, that is!
The same fans still criticize her, for correct reasons sometimes ( bizzare selection of players) and also for irrational ones because it's her and she must be criticized, they call her the walker ...
U17 Group 4 (Hungary hosts) 1st matchday Czech Republic 1 - 1 Serbia (Vorkapić 79'(og.) - Plavšić 59') Hungary 0 - 2 Italy (Tomaselli 70', Ladu 75') Group 1 (Netherlands hosts) 1st matchday Portugal 2 - 0 Belgium (Encarnação 72' 80+1') Netherlands 2 - 0 Romania (Tromp 2' 45') Group 6 (B&H hosts) 3rd matchday Turkey 2 - 2 Bosnia&Herzegovina (Melike Öztürk 80+1' 80+4' - Mujkić 2', Velagić 18') Poland 2 - 1 Austria (Tomasiak 3', Glinka 76' - Wagner 21') 1.Poland 9p (Q) 2.Austria 4p 3.Turkey 2p 4.Bosnia&H 1p Group 7 (Germany hosts) 2nd matchday Rebublic of Ireland 1 - 0 Azerbaijan (Boyle Carr 47') Germany 3 - 1 Iceland (Stegemann 15', Martinez 47', Fudalla 61' - Zomers 74')
Don't actually know these girls in particular, but happy for Italy! Yay! I don't remember who recently said that Portugal will probably soon become a team to respect in women's football: even youth-teams' results seem to confirm that. I mean, Senior Team lost to Belgium at home by 0-1 in WWC 2019 qualifiers, but the U-17 girls took their revenge! Also, the name of the scorer cracks me up: it means... incarnation! Well, at least it's Tromp and not Trump! Well, and so Poland made it, as you had rightfully predicted, @Lechus7! Good job!
U-17 Group 2 (France hosts) 2nd matchday France 2 - 2 Finland (Roth 56', Boucly 67' - Kantanen 23', Topra 57') Sweden 4 - 0 Scotland (Lindwall 10', Jontoft 33', Johansson 45' 75') Finland may yet throw out France from Euro's and thus from WWC Group 5 (Norway hosts) 1st matchday England 0 - 0 Slovenia Switzerland 0 - 5 Norway (Terland 4', Lillegård 17', Blakstad 48', Østenstad 51', Hegg 59')
Wow, so basically everything will be decided on goal difference? France will have to beat Sundhage's Sweden (who just took an easy revenge on poor Scotland) by a bigger margin than the one from Finland's expected win vs Scotland? At this point, the stars seem to align for Finland and the outcome is somehow out of France's hands (I mean, winning is in their hands, but goal difference, actually... It's a coin toss, I'd say). Really incredible. And even England could be eliminated? Well, a finish behind Norway in the group would be nothing to be ashamed of, but a scoreless draw vs Slovenia is! Looks like next U-17 Euro will be very particular! (And consequently U-17 WWC will be too).
Quite... France 4p +6 GD Finland 4p +3GD Sweden 3p +1GD Scotland 0p -10GD France may need more than narrow 1-0 or 2-1 win with Sweden cuz Finland plays non existent defensive line of Scotland (10 goals lost in 2 games ). Thing is that Sweden still has a small chance to advance as well. They need to win with France and then pray for Scotland to either win or tie with Finland.
U17 Group 2 and Group 7 concluding today. Group 2 should see Finland likely or France unlikely go through. Group 7 should see Germany go through. U19 Group 2 to 7 start next Monday with Group 1 played in June
Finland go through and France is out. Though after 49 minutes of play in each game nobody sane would've expected that. France was 3-0 with Sweden and Finland only 1-0 with Scotland - at this point France equal on points had advantage of +5 goals over Finland.... then Sweden scored twice and Finland believed. During last 12 minutes of the match they scored needed 4 goals - 7 minutes apart. Non, pas possible!

Since the very controversial ex Juvisy and France captain Sandrine Soubeyrand started coaching France U17 in 2014, this is the second time the team got eliminated at the first round (first was in 2016) and both time the elimination happened in France.
Clearly the FFF need top act, her game management is not up to scratch from I have been told yesterday.
U-17 Euro Qualified teams: Poland Finland Germany Italy Lithuania (hosts) Netherlands England Spain Draw: 6th April Final tournament: 9th - 21st April Top 3 teams qualify for WWC in Uruguay.
Norway have been in the semi-finals two years in a row at Euro U17, but not this time. This group of players have been too inconsistent and even lost to Hungary in the first qualifying round, which I guess sent us into a tougher elite group qualifiers with England. On the U19 side, England, France, Germany, Netherlands and Spain players born in 1999, 2000 etc are eligible for the u20 world cup as well. It will be interesting to see if some players do both tournaments. France and England have two different squads and coaching staff for example
