Rosengard have been kind of struggling this year I expected it could be hard but I was thinking more in line with a one goal win and possibly lossing the match-up on away-goals. Actually losing at home was not something I expected.

3 years go FC Twente upset & knockout Bayern Munich of the CL. But that suqad had future stars like van de Sanden, Roord, Dekker & the two Jansens. Since then, all of them left for greener pastures.

with the low attendance/probably low tv ratings(if it's actually shown on tv) it's often hard to anybody to put up money for woso, other than some of the super rich pro clubs.

But in the Netherlands case, i'ts NT drew huge crowds & I'm sure high TV ratings(along with probable strong merchandise sales)

that's why is hard to believe there's not enough investment money coming in for Dutch clubs to remain competitive, or keep their best players from leaving?

cause I think that just about the whole Dutch NT plays abroad right now & is the probable reason why they struggled so much in the WC qualifiers.

the top woso players don't make that much money, maybe Lieke Martens makes $300-400K an year in Barcelona. If only Dutch clubs can match that, especially since it is a relatively rich country & as mentioned, interest in the woso is so high in Holland, that it could even attract foreign investors(consider that the top investor at Man U is an American, Malcom Glazer)

  5. Lieke won the prize in Spain for the most beautiful goal of last season:thumbsup:
The jury of La Marca decided that. She scored that goal 27th of May in the semi final of the Copa de la Reina against Athletic Bilbao . She shot the ball from the edge of the box into the outer/furthest corner of the goal.

Well, most matches weren't even close.

The most interesting was probably Brøndby-LSK Kvinner: good away win for the Norwegian Champions.

Of course, tomorrow's Slavia Prague-Rosengård is the one that will keep most people on their toes. :coffee:

It just shows the difference in quality between full-time pros gathered from all corners of the world, and semi-pros/amateurs gathered from a smaller geographical area. Woso has a long way to go at club level. I don't think a straight KO-stage like we have now is the way to go forward, but we've been over that a few times already.

Yes, finally the QF-stage for LSK. They've been close before. Lost to Frankfurt on penalties a couple of years ago. That LSK team was better than what they have now.

At least quarter finals ties should be interesting, depending on the draw of course.

Yes, most of the remaining teams are strong enough that they should make for interesting matches, no matter which one will meet which.:coffee:

I am not sure, but I guess that now, in the quarters, teams from the same nation could happen to clash? :cautious:

Still surprising (and a little disgusting) to me to think that the R16 series completed thus far had their winners combine for a 43-3 scoreline...
Well, I would venture to say that LSK probably would struggle against many of the remaining teams, and there are question marks around Rosengard (if they advance) and Chelsea right now too... I would not be surprised if at least one of the four QF series turns into another bloodbath.

Tonight's action. Remaining two matches of the Round of 16 - Second leg:

    Slavia Prague 0 - 0 Rosengård
    Slavia win 3-2 on agg.

    Glasgow City 0 - 3 Barcelona
    Duggan 13,51, Putellas 48
    Barcelona win 8-0 on agg.

What a nightmarish week for Rosengård. Finished third in Damallsvenskan in a three horse race on the final matchday, and now this. No CL for them next season.

Through to the quarter-finals: LSK Kvinner, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Chelsea, Wolfsburg, PSG, Slavia Prague and Barcelona.

The QF draw will be made 9th of November and is without restrictions.

    :eek::eek::eek:

Wow: two times final match in the last three seasons, and now it happens in the quarters already!!!

In 2016-2017 it was the same: OL-Wolfsburg in the quarter finals and OL won, on their way to win the second of three consecutive titles. :coffee:

If that semi isn't Bayern/Barca, I think that will be even more of a shock than Rosengard's exit was.

LSK's assistant coach Anna Collett is often writing interesting columns on the club's website. Before the CL draw she wrote a column called "The coolest girl in the class":

"Not only are we very cool and popular - we are damn sought-after right now. We are dreamt about, fantasized about - we are the truth, the road, the life. We are the answer to everything! For Europe's seven best teams, we are the dream girl. We are the dream girl!

All clubs present at Friday's draw dream about LSK Kvinner in the bowl. Had this been at Martin's (a nightclub in Lillestrøm) a Friday night way past midnight, we could just choose. We would definitely not go home alone."

Wolfsburg has no chance at all as long as their fullback options are Blässe, Maritz, Peter and Minde lol

Sorry I believe Lyon’s gonna win again sadly
Wolfsburg’s just let down by their coaching staff not bothering to sign better fullbacks lol
