Disappointing match for Brescia, they haven't be able to take advantage for playing 11 vs 10 for 3/4 of the match; at least 4 clear goal chances wasted (as can be seen in the highlights) and at the first chance Ajax scores....of course the qualification is still open, but won't be easy score 2 goals vs. a solid team that probably will bunker... On the other hand, very good performance for Fiorentina, that wiped away the concerns about their disappointing season start with a convincing win, that could had been wider (Vigilucci hit the post and another goal has been disallowed for a non-existing foul). The return match will be a battle, but I think that the chances now are 50/50.
should of that been a red card? It didn't look intentional to me. On the other hand Bresca might of hsd a point at around 3.20 mark of the vid when the GK flattened their attacking fwd I think they would of produced more goals if they would of started instead. Can't understand how these coaches leave some of their best players on the bench for most of the game. Montpelier kept 3 prominent French NT's as late subs http://us.women.soccerway.com/match...-herault-sport-club/zvezda-2005-perm/2584698/ question; why is Brazil & Ausralia allowed to front a team at the CL?. Alvaldsnes got more of either of them in their starting lineup than their supposed home base...LOL http://us.women.soccerway.com/match...ons-league/avaldsnes-il/fc-barcelona/2584709/
Islacker injured or something, I don't know why Wenninger didn't play, at least she's a defensive player which Laudehr's not (although I think Laudehr did a good job).
I mean... you've also had Apollon Limassol look more like an American team than a Cypriot team before, too. I think when you're a big team in a small country, you tend to bring in a lot of internationals since your domestic pool is so small.
Norway's player pool is actually large by European standards. One of only a handful of countries with +100k registered players. Multinational teams is pretty much the norm in Champions League nowadays, but Avaldsnes have for years chosen to go outside Europe when recruiting, mainly Brazil, USA and lately Australia, thanks to a rich investor with big ambitions. He knows it will be difficult to bring established European stars up here, so he is trying other options. Even in the domestic game, Avaldsnes' rise has been remarkable as it is a village on the West coast. They haven't yet won anything in Norwegian football, but have reached the Cup final due to be played in November.

Oh, ok, now I understand: UEFA website (!) mistakenly had Bayern-Chelsea 3-0 on its page! Both Italian teams advancing! I wouldn't have bet on that, after first leg.
It was excellent game to watch and really shame that hungarian ref wasn't on the level. Penalty for Bayern was clear as day, and that other situation with Bachmann trying to waste some minutes and then just taken out across the sideline by Bayern players...poor poor ref..
also Chelsea's goal was offside and Laudehr scored a goal that was discounted due to a "foul" that I didn't get
I already mentioned my disappointment in Atletico earlier, which was surprising to me... On a similar note, but not a disappointment at all: WOW am I surprised Rossiyanka capitulated so badly! Also somewhat surprised Zvezda squandered an away leg win with a worse home loss. Odd to see no Russian team in the R16. Also odd to see a German team eliminated so early, but against this year's Chelsea I'm not all that surprised. Only three other lower-seed advances so far, but I kind of expected those three ties (Fior-Fortuna, Gintra-Zurich, and Lillestrom-Brondby) to all be somewhat close anyway.
