so do you think that Kerschowski will start instead of Faisst, and Anna Blasse to replace Maier as RB??
Yeah, Maier's had a terrible season, not even being able to hold down a starting role in her best position (RB) for the national team under Steffi Jones either... but seeing how Maier's a talented RB/LB in her early 20's, and Lewnadowski's a reliable veteran in her early 30's, I don't think it's crazy to suggest Bayern's future will be featuring the likes of Maier - Der Gragt - Demann - Faißt in more prominent roles, no? Potsdam's squad seriously lacks depth, and I'm beginning to question how they intend to improve with their rivals having already begun recruiting the remaining few top domestic talents; however, this season when I compare Postdam's best 11 vs Bayern's best 11, besides the RW position, I think Potsdam still has the better overall team, which speaks volumes of the work that still needs to be done before Bayern can consolidate their position as one of Germany's elite. For all the positive strides they've made, we still need to remember that this is very much the same team who couldn't beat FC Twente over two games during last seasons UCL Faißt and Maier are the better players, but current form, health, and competition for places, means Kerschowski and Blässe have a real chance to make themselves the best options to a coach who still doesn't seem to understand how bad Henning - Peter are, or how good Marozsan played as a AM (not DM) really is.
LOL, again... it's not that Wolfsburg don't want to sign the nations top domestic talents anymore, it's they can't, or have been struggling to sign the top domestic talents they've previously identified. Feeding on the corpse of the once strong FCR 2001 Duisburg, before going on to snatch the runaways from Potsdam's last UCL finalist team, Wolfsburg used two very strong rivals to obtain the important pieces to their eventual league - cup - UCL treble winning squad. Since doing all that though.... nothing.... Are Hansen and Herder great signings within a cast of highly talented foreign talents.. hell yeah! But WOB's initial spine of Fischer - Keßler - Goeßling - Müller - Pohlers is still infinitely superior to what constitutes the spine of Wolfsburg right now. Oh, and to make this cycle seem even closer to the end of it's era, Kellermann just announced he's taking a different position within the club too, with a new coach taking over the head coaching position next season lol.
if you mean the German NT, Jones has used mainly the exact same back line as Wolfsburg has with the exemption of Henning in there for the Swedish Fisher. Maier got moved over to right mid. Faisst most likely a sub for Dabritz over at left-mid, Here's the starting lineup that Jones has been using the most; GK...............................Shult Blasse..........Henning.........Peter........Kerschowski ..................................Marozsan Maier...................................................Dabrtiz ..................................Popp ...............Huth........................Mittag It's gotten Jones FIFA's #1 ranking, but if the lineup AS IS and Jones insisting on playing the ball from the back & only moving up through a short passing game(which can be dangerous if the opponent high pressure's you) is NOT going to win them the Euros this time around. I'll favor France due to coach Eschoufri's new style just mirrors more a men's game, with a much faster paced attack and surprisingly quick transition to defense
is that a promotion or demotion for Kellermann? & personally I like that the best German youth players are spread around rather than stuck on one team. It's made the Bundesliga that much more compatable, and like the other day, one German, Marissa Ewers(formerly of Bayer Leverkusen) got to be the hero for Birmingham City, as she scored the only goal in their upset over star studded/super stacked Arsenal
Hmmm, I honestly don't know (didn't check), but I did say it appeared as if Kellermann's tactical evolution had reached a plateau, so maybe he's moving into a role where he can focus on shaping/establishing the long term future of Wolfsburg, allowing new ideas to finally progress what he started long ago. Yeah, I guess compared to how it used to be with the national team basically residing within Frankfurt's team colors every weekend, or having the repeat scenario where a newly rich club can go and grab the best players away from stronger rivals, it's definitely healthier for the Bundesliga to see more of it's top domestic talent spread throughout the league. However, it does make the assessment of the German wnt problematic, when the majority of nations best domestic performers showcase their ability on teams outside of the nations two UCL teams.... Elsig - Wesely - Schmidt - Kemme - Huth - Simon - Rauch - Hendrich - Islacker - Magull - Schöne - Petermann - Kayikci - Doorsoun - Demann - Nuding - Schlüter, all really shouldn't have spent the last three years playing outside the leagues top two teams.
I would still say Kellermann's still been one of the best coaches in the Bundesliga, tactical wise/ definately better thn Worle's attacking straight up or Schroeder's 3 back. Considering the attendance is way down this year, I don't know why the league has to take in so many Eastern Euro players(must be over two dozen of them alone in the First Division). Their play has been average with only Jakabfi getting any raves Totally agree, Jones B team is better than her A/current starrting squad, with the exception of course of Marozsan. Hopefully is a surprise that Jones is only ready to spring it on to the world at Euros
Hmmm, I actually view Bernd Schroeder as one of the best coaches German women's football has ever seen, often producing the best teams to showcase the best of German women's football; oh, and this also lacking the budget of old long time rivals like Frankfurt too. I mean before obtaining the biggest budget in the league, Kellermann never came anywhere close to producing a single team on the same level of Potsdam's best; and even European rivals like Lyon would probably attest to that too, having seen Schroeder's Potsdam go head to head with their teams in far more adventurous style's than WOB's constantly lackluster efforts. So how are average Bundesliga clubs supposed to sign top players from more developed wnt's...? Players like Lucie Vonkova, Jovana Damnjanovic, Dominika Skorvankova, (thank you google lol) have been great additions to the leagues growing parity, but how or why are these middling clubs supposed to sign players with equal or superior talent from higher profile wnt's like Spain, England, Belgium etc....? Uggghhh... Unfortunately Jones has far more control over the German wnt than her non existent coaching resume should honestly allow lol, but she can still come out of this looking good if she ever wakes up to the reality of Germany's consistently poor defensive choices, and the #1 fact of Marozsan being a world class AM, not a DM stupidly stuck orchestrating play in front of the back four.
Right, the semis are coming up, and there will be streams and broadcasts and things! Manchester City-Lyon starts at 15:00 CEST, and will air at C8 in France, ESPN3 in the US and stream at City's Facebook page everywhere else except for, curiously, the UK, because apparently the FA have instituted a blackout thingy in order to ensure that the UK is the only country in the world not being able to watch their own team debut in a UWCL semi? I don't even know. Barcelona-PSG starts at 18:00 CEST, and will air at BeIn in France and at Barça TV for whoever is able to get that (haven't looked into it but may try to watch the match tomorrow!)
Stream is live: https://www.facebook.com/mancity/videos/vb.208411345454/10158745005915455/?type=3&theater
apparently they pulled the plug on the facebook link, but here's the replay of Lyon/Man City on esps3(if it's geo blocked, use hola) http://www.espn.com/watch/player?id=3059616 review; obviously a squad with 7/8 players on FIFA's top ten short list of recent years was going to dominate this team that had short comings in various position. I was wondering more; which team is the best in the world, Lyon or the French NT? In this game, the foreign mercenaries really shined for Lyon; Marozsan & Buchanan were the two best players on the field & two of the goal were by their other international players. But I do prefer the much faster paced playing style of the French NT, then the long winding pass, pass, pass game that Lyon played, though it was obvious effective in tiring Man City.. Can't figure out why Man City didn't substitute faster? especially the horror that was Carli Lloyd! They let Melissa Lawley stay in there despite hobbling on one leg for about her last ten minutes
she did good in getting the pk & goal, but if you look at the highlights, she did loose quite a few tackles & lost the ball on that occasion which resulted in the Man City counter/goal. freeze frame/slo mo at the 57 second mark https://www.mancity.com/citytv/matc...ampions-league-match-highlights/1492886095908 In the meantime, Maro & Buchanen were absolute flawless, never once loosing the ball(wasn't that Lyon's game plan?) Got to give Majri credit too, she had to take on Lucy Bronze, and got around her couple of times/kept her from moving up as well
What? They're still there, just click the links (the second one can't be embedded but you get to the video if you click 'Watch on Facebook'). Might be geoblocked in the US, I guess.
No tv game at all for the 3pm games on saturdays in England to prevent people from watching games instead of going to the stadium. It is made to protect the clubs especially in lower divisions from level 2 to 12 who need the gate money to survive. Same thing happened in 2013 with the U19 final in Wales, game shown on Eurosport everywhere except in England.
PSG won their match at home, strangely. City's streaming the upcoming Lyon match: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10158783593125455
Lyon have lost back-to-back home games in the CL without scoring. Didn't see that coming. But who cares, they march on to another final. An all French final.
It feels like the end of a cycle at OL. After 3 years Precheur going and the quality of play is not great and has not been for a while now. Apparently certain players are happy to see him go because his management methods are contested. Still an 100 % French final down the road for me is a good prospect.
At which time exactly is it? Available streamings? I root for Lyon also, but mostly for Kumagai. One year ago, she was the game winner.
