Savez insists on choosing the assistants, instead of having the manager pick his own. https://bih.ba/235226-savez-ponovo-zeli-nametnuti-pomocnike-selektoru
I don't believe it for a second, but this would be the best possible scenario. He just got fired by West Ham. NAP saznaje: Slaven Bilić kandidat za selektora BiH
Only hesitation would be his reluctance to court/invite some younger players into the national team. Other than that, he would be the most qualified manager we have ever hired (right?). He has actually managed big teams, got Serbia qualified for the first time in forever, and is familiar with out bull politics. I am all for getting a foreign manager if the right one comes along but I still think we need someone from the region who understands the dynamics of the country, which appear here to stay. Would much prefer Muslin over Kodro or Osim.
Once again we're one of the only teams not to schedule a friendly and we were supposed to get a new manager yesterday, but did not. Its difficult to support this team when the people in charge and players seem to hardly care at all.
Not sure how reliable this info is but what I saw on twitter is Jan 31, Bosnia vs Mexico, San Antonio.
Expectations for League of Nations? Imo, worst case we finish 2nd place but really we should be aiming for promotion to League A. Winning our group guarantees 2nd pot for Euro 2020 qualifiers, I believe.
Hard to say because Austria have had a resurgence under their new manager and N. Ireland have the most chemistry out of everyone because they've been together for a few years now. We can easily compete with both in the quality department, but we still need to improve if we're going to top the group. As long as we don't get relegated and we figure ourselves out more ahead of the actual qualifiers, I won't be too upset whatever happens. At least we get some good tests out of it.
I'd say this is our core group of players that we can rely on for the next two years or so during Nations League and Euro qualifiers, as either quality starters or depth players: GK Begović (31, Bournemouth, ENG) Šehić (29, Erzurumspor, TUR) RB/LB Kolašinac (25, Arsenal, ENG) Ćivić (22, Sparta Prague, CZE) Todorović (21, RB Salzburg, AUS) CB Zukanović (31, Genoa, ITA) Šunjić (29, Dynamo Moscow, RUS) Vranješ (28, Anderlecht, BEL) Bičakčić (28, Hoffenheim, GER) Šerbečić (20, Rosenborg, NOR) CM/CDM Pjanić (28, Juventus, ITA) Bešić (25, Everton, ENG) Cimirot (25, Standard Liege, BEL) Krunić (24, Empoli, ITA) Prcić (24, Levante, ESP) LM/RM Višča (28, Basaksehir, TUR) Hajrović (27, Dinamo Zagreb, CRO) Kodro (25, Copenhagen, DEN) Duljević (24, Dynamo Dresden, GER) ST Džeko (32, Roma, ITA) Prevljak (23, RB Salzburg, AUS) ------------------------------------- Of course, there are several younger players who could be integrated into the squad further. Who knows how good Gojak will be in two years. Lončar and menial are also promising. Demirović looks good. The midfield looks really nice imo. If Bešić can get a loan and more consistent playing time, I'd go with a Pjanić-Bešić-Krunić three. But there are several good alternatives in case of injury, including Prcić who made a move to Levante.
