Bad luck by Croatia, had like 5 clear cut chances to score, and then get countered by Portugal. Too bad, they're a really fun team to watch (except in this game lol)

Portugal finally went for a counter and it worked. It'll be either them or Belgium in the final from that side of the bracket.
Croatians gets overrated every tournament, while in reality they linger between mediocrity and averageness. Not among the elite European sides.
Who was the better side tonight, though? Croatia had way more possession, created way more chances, and had way more shots. Just look at how it ended, Croatia hitting the crossbar, being countered, and then being scored on because for whatever reason Cacic let a clearly injured Corluka on who couldn't cover his man.
I was also going to say this. Everyone pegged them in as favorites for the finals on this side of the bracket and are already out after the Round of 16. They also don't play like an elite team, they were afraid to take control of the game and take chances for 117 minutes, until they HAD to go for it to survive.
I can't remember three straight knockout games at a major tournament that were this bad. Sucks for Croatia.
I think Portugal is more overrated than Croatia. Considering they couldn't even score against Austria is pathetic. Meanwhile Croatia beat Spain who already won a WC and Euro... I think they're a good side. It's hard to pick out who's a European elite now days. Netherlands didn't qualify i guess theyre not one anymore either..
Croatia are better than Portugal imo but they had way too much respect for them because of Ronaldo. Cacic was afraid of getting caught on the counter.

They had more possession, big whoop, no shots on target until the very end. How they can get such big heads after accomplishing nothing really is beyond me. They talked before the match as if there was going to be a huge blow out, shit themselves the moment they set foot on the pitch. Mental midgets. Did they same the last World Cup before they played Mexico, talked a lot and got beat.
No one gave Portugal a chance at winning this match except a few. They were huge underdogs. Everyone has been chastising Portugal for their poor performances since the qualifiers, but they have winners and leaders on their team who get results. Btw, Sanches looked pretty good apart from some bad passes, outshined both Ratikic and Modric who were pretty much anonymous the majority of the match, especially Rakitic.
