All of Mata, Rashford and Mkhi have been especially dire.

Mkhi at his worst is like Giggs at his worst, in the way it’s almost sarcastically bad. Shame we never get Giggs at his best as compensation. If he doesn’t pull something out of his arse in the next 8 months he can ******** off or ride the pine next year.

 

Matic looks like he deserves to be in a better organised team. He stood out as the only player doing his job...and trying to push things forward. everybody else still looks scared stiff of receiving the ball.

 

Rashford, Mikhi and Mata all poor so far.

 

Got a better grip on the game after the first twenty minutes but still the same sloppiness we exhibited over the weekend. Loads of misplaced passes, sloppy touches etc. especially among the band of 3 behind Lukaku. Mkhi in the #10 role isn't contributing in midfield and has been dreadful going forward.

Miki misplaces more passes in one game than the rest of the team combined.

 

That's the third or fourth wrong offsides call.

 

Rashford just destroyed that poor soul.

 

He gets assists so that's ok

 

Really starting to have my patience tested by Miki. I understand why Jose s reluctant to play Rashford, Martial and Lukaku together, as it would leave him with no offensive options off the bench (something that will chance once Zlatan comes back).
But for now I'd almost prefer Mata to move in centrally and have Lingard play on the right. Perhaps not ideal, but surely would provide more than having Miki in there.
Not sure what is going on with him, but he's just not been good in the least this season...

 

That long shot from Matic is him just saying 'our forwards are useless, I may as well just shoot'. ...he's not wrong.

 

Without Pogba or Fellaini the whole GWAC doesn't work because there nobody making late runs into the box. It's too easy for them to crowd out Lukaku since he's the only target.

 

Martial will come on and immediately change things by running at defenders and being direct.

Looked like it would take something strange, the record-breaking young keeper has been dodgy on corners and crosses all night and carries the ball over the line from a Rashford free-kick.

 

What a strange, strange goal. Does that count as Rashford's or an OG?

 

He's been cheating on crosses the whole game. He brought that on himself.

 

That's like under 10 youth soccer stuff.... wtf.

 

Cold, exploiting an 18 year old keeper like that. Not the first time we've tried. But I'll take it.

In a sea of garbage, have been impressed with Matic - super tidy player who keeps and uses the ball really well.

 

That's how he was at his best with Chelsea. And so far, he's been close to impeccable for us and if he can keep this up...

Harsh on the Benfica keeper, but that must be the biggest spread in like-for-like positions you are likely to see at the top-level - worlds best at one end and player making only his second senior appearance at the other
