Pleasantly surprised by Panama. T&T was terrible-- I think their moment passed in 2014 when Waldrum was coach and their players had motivation. They just looked haphazard and listless today. And you can't really blame them under the circumstances.

Both Panama and T&T showed that, unless they play a LOT better, they are no threat to either the US or Mexico. That means that this match is for first place in the group. I keep being surprised by exactly how bad the teams after the top three are in CONCACAF. It is a real disappointment that there has been so little real improvement over the years.

Mexico is reported as going to play a 5-4-1, That is effectively setting up a bunker. If played well bunkers have always given the US a LOT of trouble, see Sweden. There are three ways to break a bunker: 1. Shots from outside - not a current strength of the US 2. Intricate short passing through the middle with quick shots from any space created - Also not a US strength 3. Wing play with a lot of crosses and the wining of the second ball for shots - This is what the US must do if Mexico really plays a bunker
Yep it really looks early on like a Mexico bunker. Kind of scary given the last time the US played against a well played bunker in an important tournament.
