Not starting an EPL player and a consistent 10-goal scorer in Mexico. Their coach is in hot water if they lose.
The stands filled out a bit, but still a disappointing turnout, given how big of a game this is for Canada's WC qualifying outlook, and their seeming desire to cultivate a rivalry with their more established neighbors to the south.
Yeah no. He was on loan from Benfica when he was at Philadelphia....and MLS was not nearly at the level then as it is today.
Roldan has 17 caps with 0 goals and 0 assists. He should only be in the squad if there's an injury crisis at this point.
There was a time when everything was a pair or rabbit's ears away. http://www.course4net.com/2019/10/canada-vs-usa.html
my god we are trash. take the deep throw and immediate instinct is to play back to the defense and a turnover unforced is the result. have some trucking confidence it's CANADA ffs.
That's not much of a criteria for a primary 8, and the argument is about the last several games to maintain his place on the roster, not the entirety of his 17 caps anyway. He's forced multiple excellent saves from keepers in the last few games. Those goals would come. Again, I don't think he should be starting tonight either, but to claim he hasn't been solid lately against opponents who the US could lose to realistically is wrong.
Hey, Herdman has apparently given up on the Davies as a left back experiment. Hopefully GB is taking notes......
Canada does what it has to do including playing Davies at LB on occasion. Not ideal, but sometimes better than the alternative line ups.
