74' 2-2 USA subs in (3 of 3) #23 Reilyn Turner for #4 Talia DellaPeruta.

76' 2-3 Wiesner right ck, inswings to 1m 1/4 left, headed down and away to 8m left post. #15 Natalia Staude turns back to it, backpass to #11 Maya Doms posting up at box top right post. Doms chips one-touch left instep to center high, Gutiérrez must look into the setting sun -- just over her fingertips into center back high.

76' 2-3 Mexico subs in (2 of 3) #9 Vanessa Buso for #10 Alison González.
    88' 2-3 Mexico subs in (3 of 3) #16 Yanin Madrid for #19 Rebeca Villuendas. +3'.

90+2' (of +3') 2-3 Fontes challenges 1-v-1 at circle center, wins ball, quickly drives a low chip. Not quite enough power, bounces to Gutiérrez scrambling back at her own 6-top.

    90+3' (of +3') 2-3 USA foul at 25m mid-right.
90+4' (of +3') 2-3 Mexico fk at 25m mid-right, Avilez dummies over, #_ drives ball toward spot. #7 Díaz(?) back-flicks wide left -- deflected? Before any ck ...

FT 2-3. USA are CONCACAF W17 champions!
They promptly let HC Mark Carr lead the rush onto the field ... and sneakily follow him with the water cooler, and douse him. And they celebrate that by jumping up and down

I quoted from memory and missed a bit but it seems we were both wrong about the end.

"Hello Mother Hello Father" by Allan Sherman

    Hello muddah, hello faddah,
Here I am at Camp Granada.
    Camp is very entertaining,
And they say we'll have some fun if it stops raining!

I went hiking with Joe Spivey,
    He developed poison ivy.
    You remember Lennard Skinard,
He got ptomain poisoning last night after dinner!

All the counselors hate the waiters,
    And the lake has alligators!
And the head coach wants no sissies,
So he reads to us from something called 'Ulysses'.

No, I don't want this should scare ya,
    But my bunkmate has malaria!
    You remember Jeffrey Hardy,
They're about to organize a searching party!

Take me home, oh muddah, faddah.
Take me home, I hate Granada.
Don't leave me out in the forest,
Where I might get eaten by a bear!

Take me home, I promise I will not make noise,
Or mess the house with all my toys.
    Oh please don't make me stay;
I've been here one whole day!

    Dearest faddah, darling muddah,
    How's my precious little bruddah?
    Let me come home if you miss me;
I would even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me!

Wait a minute; it stopped hailing.
Guys are swimming, guys are sailing.
    Playing baseball, gee that's better.
Muddah, faddah, kindly disregard this letter!

Forget her name, but how did the Canadian keeper not get the golden gloves? Okay, she made a mistake which led to a PK. But there's no way Canada qualifies without her. She saved her team countless times. Heck, I almost give her golden ball as best player in the tournament!

Okay, Dumonay was pretty deserving, but my point stands.

Well my guess is that they had to give the gold metal team some individual accolade.

Dumanay at 14 is really good. Hard to deny her the golden ball as you said. But the alternative as I see it is Canadian GK Gold gloves and my vote goes to Sophie jones as the golden ball winner. I do have a soft spot for a dmid showing such all around quality. So many go under appreciated. Sergio bus quest has helped a little and I do see some parallels in Jones mini bus quest game.

Well, I think the best goalkeeper should win golden glove and best player should win golden ball regardless of gold medal team ;)
