Lack of vision and ambition on the administrative side.

The only argument you can make against his inclusion is that he isn't integrated with the team, but Arriola and Baird have both been lousy despite being well integrated.

I'm already prepared to be disappointed when Boyd doesn't get the call for the Gold Cup.

Arriola and Baird have 3 goals and 2 assists combined across 21 MLS games.

Game finished 2-1 to Erdogan's favorites.

Robinho (yes, THAT Robinho) popped up with the winner.

Ankaragucu are 4 points above the relegation zone with 2 matches to play. Basaksehir stays level with Galatasaray at the top of the league and they play each other next week.

Ankaragucu's next opponent is Sivasspor, at home on May 20.

Feel old yet? Robinho is 35 years old. Lol.

Back to Boyd: Can someone explain to me how he ended up in Turkey? I thought he was good when he first went to Portugal????

He's there on a loan which expires in June. I don't think he'll be in Turkey next year

The defender that Tyler Boyd skunked for his goal was none other than Gaël Clichy

Sorry for the confusion, I meant why is he on loan? Was it an injury? Out of rotation?

He's on loan both because of an injury and he's been out of rotation even when healthy.

Boyd hasn't had an easy time breaking into the Vitoria de Guimaraes squad. He's best moments in Europe have come on loan - first to Tondela and now at Ankaragucu.

But I was told repeatedly on twitter by fans that Gregg Berhalter was never going to call up Boyd because of Baird. They were very certain of this

arriola has often been badly missed by Olsen. He’s played left back!

IMO he’s a marginal Nat. Just sharing information from a DC fan.

Arriola is Bedoya 2.0. Hard working dude, can be effective at times, but is very reliant on others to set him up in good spots for production. Just not good enough against good competition.

Excited to see what Boyd can bring.

Fair comparison. One difference is that Arriola is more of a pure wide player, while IMO Bedoya was/is more of an all around mid.

Another day, another post that turns into an MNT pool player half a decade later.

The last attempt to call him up was made by Hudson in May 2016, ahead of the OFC Nations Cup in Papua New Guinea. Boyd would have been tied to New Zealand had he played in that tournament.

Hudson told Stuff in September 2017: "Ever since he pulled out of that squad, because he wanted to spend time with his personal trainer to prepare for preseason, rather than coming to the Nations Cup, I haven't heard from Tyler, so I think it would be wrong for me, and quite disrespectful to the team, to be chasing after someone that doesn't want to come".

Boyd most recently visited New Zealand last winter, but would not answer questions about the All Whites at the time.

I think our most honest hope is that Boyd is roughly a Bedoya (in his prime) level player that's actually a winger as opposed to the out of position CM that Bedoya was.

If that's the case he's instantly our best winger not named Pulisic.

Do you agree he wouldn’t have filed the switch without encouragement from Gregg to do so?

Of course. No one does it without speaking to the country they’re switching to

What is your professional opinion as to his position in the USMNT player pool and what he will bring to the team?

Also re-upping this one from page one. I don't know when U.S. Soccer first reached out, but for Boyd to wait this long for an uncertain outcome seems worthy of note. He didn't mention anything in @bshredder's December story, which was published shortly after Berhalter's hiring was announced.
