Looks like Sydorchuk (from Dynamo Kyiv, CM) is going to be their last transfer of the summer, so Boyd is set to play quite a bit. https://haberport.com/spor/ukrayna-...gey-sydorchuk-icin-harekete-gecti-h15966.html
Starts Beşiktaş XI : Karius, Gökhan, Vida, Ruiz, Caner, Dorukhan, Oğuzhan, Ljajic, Boyd, Lens, Güven #BJKvsRİZ #Beşiktaş
He's been injured since Haiti game, but I'm not sure what is the problem. https://no.whoscored.com/Matches/1405077/Preview/Turkey-Super-Lig-2019-2020-Besiktas-Rizespor

Beşiktaş lost 3-2. Boyd came in at the 66' mark. They were down to 10 since the 6' and down 2-0 already. At the 75' mark, both teams got a red, so it was 10 to 9 for the rest of the game. Gaziantep scored again, and Beşiktaş scored twice late (Boyd not involved). Ljajic their MOTM.

starting to feel like everyone outside of steffen associated with the usmnt has taken their summer experience and brought that woeful disappointment to their club teams
Unused sub in a 1-1 draw. Besiktas go to 11th place. The current top 5 finished last season, respectively, in 9th, 6th, 5th (second division), 12th, and 1st (second division). Weird league right now.

This transfer/few months have been an absolute disaster for him. Hasn't had a single game where he's made a positive contribution for club or country in that span. Frankly it would be better if he weren't playing. Then at least we could rationalize the manager just wasn't giving him a fair opportunity (which is sometimes true). He's had more than a fair shot, but he just keeps on missing. Stock is dropping like a rock, to the point you have to wonder if there's a lingering injury there. Otherwise he's just seen his confidence plummet.
Is that because of him or because of his club? Because Besiktas is, and I'm putting this gently, a steaming hot pile of garbage. This score, as it stands, drops them into the relegation zone.
In the game I saw, he's the only one on the field who wasn't playing well, and the struggles have carried over to the national team, so I think he's independently an issue, regardless of Besiktas' underachievement as a whole. Their poor investment in him, so far, has been part of that.
He had a concussion. I think that has been the big injury that's caused a dip in form. A lot of time those linger, and if you were forced back to playing it hurts your overall recovery time.
That's one thing I suspected. We saw Matt Besler look like a shell of himself for a while after he suffered a concussion. Could be as a result of a combo of unclear thinking, loss of reflexes, and fear of aggravation. Regardless, he could use a break, for both club and country. I don't think him playing is necessarily good for anybody right now.
