USMNT fans in June are deeply concerned and emotional about the career choice of a player they found out about in May
What? Too soon? I'd say if he didn't show up and bag a few goals out the gate, the obsession might be a tad less - but not a lot less.
Everyone's just a little bit Boy Crazy..... I mean Boyd Crazy. Gotta love those summer crushes. Then by Fall he's gone, back to Europe ,and all we have is obscure language Twitter feeds and crappy streams to follow him
This seems... confident... Tyler Boyd is a Besiktas player per @KramponSport pic.twitter.com/9YwNXUWvzm— The Black Eagles podcast 🦅 (@BesiktasPodcast) June 26, 2019
For all you Turkish speakers (or, readers, really) Description of Tyler Boyd, Shinji Kagawa and Marcelo from Besiktas football director Ali Naibi! 1144021156040761345 is not a valid tweet id
Someone is convinced it's happening: Tyler Boyd ile anlaşma tamamhttps://t.co/YS2eAVZPN0 pic.twitter.com/RfmutMwJWR— Beşiktaşın Yolu (@Besiktasyolu_) June 27, 2019
All this Turkish hype about his signing reminds me of when Heath Pearce "signed" with Bursaspor, had his photo taken with Bursaspor officials at a presser, and then the next day...... yeah just kidding we f*** up we did not submit the paper work before the transfer window closed.
I actually really like this move. I like diversity in our YA. Haven't had a reason to watch the Turkish league in awhile but it's different and exciting. Some of the derbies are insane. Boyd starting for Besiktas vs Fenerbahce or Galatasaray is going to make for a great Sat morning.
I'm not sure it's that benign... These guys running with the Miami angle - since Beckham has to be biggest clickbait of all. Most reports are 1.5 million Euro to Besiktas. It's also interesting since Boyd has said (way before this all started) that Beckham was his favorite player and one of the biggest inspirations as a kid.
this reminds me - if any of you can read and are looking for a summer memoir Pamuk's Istanbul is quite a bit about his childhood in Besiktas in more secular times. A pretty decent read if you have any interest in that sort of thing...
