Even as North Melbourne will play some its "home" games on the Gold Coast starting next season, two more AFL clubs -- Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs -- have assured that there will be AFL home-and-away season games played in Canberra at Manuka Oval, the Kangaroos' former home away from home.

It may be only one regular-season game for each the Demons and the Bulldogs (plus a couple of pre-season games for each club), but what does it mean for the AFL code as a whole?

Is it a sign of making Aussie Rules more and more of a truly national code, or does it spell trouble for the game in its ancestral homeland of the State of Victoria?
