This past Sunday's @SpursOfficial v @ManUtd game, was NBCSN's Most-Watched Match in More Than a Year pic.twitter.com/xhRF5oPImI— NBC Sports PR (@NBCSportsPR) January 15, 2019 A lot of things lined up nicely for NBCSN on this one: Man Utd resurgence, 11:30 ET kickoff lined up pretty well with NFL playoffs starting at 1:05 (good back-to-back-to-back day for Joe Sixpack casual fans), snowed in viewers in some of their best markets.
True. I lit a fire to enjoy some soccer and NFL playoffs while snowed in. I need more days like that.

Only one of those ten markets had an MLS club, and Baltimore is near D.C. Now Cincinnati has MLS. Memphis isn't near an MLS club, and MLS fans could be split between Chicago, Sporting Kansas City, FC Dallas, and Atlanta, which are all 5 to 8 hours away.
There aren't a lot of clear meta takes you can get from the top markets. Though some interesting notes: Not surprising that almost all markets are Eastern Time Many are small and less diverse than biggest markets (see Dayton, Ft Myers) those markets will show up in ratings lists because they tend to have more sports fans per capita DC is just an awesome, awesome intl soccer market. Top 4 rating from the 6th biggest market (2.5 mil households) is a lot of viewers. Baltimore is (completely separate) a good market too! Oh and the match wasn't actually on in Birmingham, the NBC affiliate aired a police officer's funeral services. NBC was mistaken in their original list. So Cincy was actually first.
So the "overnight" ratings didn't account for Birmingham programming changes, NBC says. Here are the final "national" ratings:1 Cincinnati2 Memphis3 Washington, DC4 Greenville, SC5 Milwaukee6 Dayton7 Norfolk8 Ft. Myers9 Baltimore10 Portlandtie Richmond— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) January 25, 2019

That's a great rating. Do you know what the record rating is for a Champions League game excluding Finals on Saturdays?
Hmm, good question. I'll do some searching. So basically the top Tues/Weds US afternoon match... It's going to be hard to determine with combined English/Spanish language channel combos but I'd bet that TNT+Univision are hitting all time weekday highs. There's this https://www.sportsvideo.org/2018/09...ap-winless-streak-on-thursday-night-football/ That match was also watched by 330k on TNT, so just over a million total for a September group stage match. Don't have time for more searching now so let's call that the weekday record
I have no idea but it may have been a match up between Man U and Real Madrid back in the day. That is my guess.
At the 2014 UEFA Champions League semis, Atlético de Madrid vs Chelsea got 627 k. https://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/n...dience-records-for-fox-sports-1-fox-deportes/
Though I wonder if this is the peak for any weekday afternoon (as the final was still a Weds back in '09)? And I think that's without Spanish language total added (which would have been a pretty big number on Deportes).
