I listen to talksport radio for the pregame and post game of most major tournaments now. Sometimes BBC 5 Live for Euros and World Cups. Interesting to hear their point of views.
Agree with you on the br/TNT aspect. I can't stand their app and I have no luck via browser either, despite all other services being fairly seamless by this point. Univision networks are hard to come by on streaming services and made it difficult to find a solution. I could authenticate in with someone else's login, but you are relying on unofficial means if you want to watch something after the fact and their app situation is just confusing. Their coverage was comprehensive as far as match availability, but the site is just ok.
Univision Deportes is sitting pretty: https://worldsoccertalk.com/2019/06...ague-records-debut-tv-season/#comment-2080140
The single comment below this article rings true to me: Thus I scratch my head when I read this paragraph: Huh?? The only thing I can think of that would even remotely account for that was a more exciting tournament this year with 4 English teams making it to the last 8.
A couple things: - TNT is in more homes than FS1 (~ ten million more) + it's "lower down the dial" and more established/visible. FS1's ratings vs more established cable nets (ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS) generally suck. - Turner's strategy to concentrate one one match per day paid off in getting viewers who wanted English language commentary to funnel to TNT. Instead of fragmenting total audience by spreading to TruTV, etc. While super users complained that they didn't have access to Brugge-Dortmund via TV, casual fans just got on with watching Liverpool-PSG on TNT.
The one complaint I have about Turner other than the obvious paywall is the clinging to Nash the novelty the whole entire season. Yes, it was cool to hear a basketball player's perspective but to have him at the table with their other main analysts and even as a match commentator was just plain weird.
Does anyone know when B/R starts showing Champions and Europa league qualifiers? I canceled my service the second I could because I hate them (I’ll spare you all), but I like to watch the qualifying rounds as early as possible
I made a mistake once again. They had Celtic early on. I am not familiar with what round it was but it was early.
This is how it works officially with UEFA: For the Champions League, TV rights (which are currently owned by TNT/BRLive) start with the Playoff Round. All Qualifying Round matches are sold by the clubs themselves and could end up anywhere (including BRLive). For the Europa league, TV rights start with the Group Stage, so all Qualifying and Playoff Round matches are sold by clubs and could end up anywhere. SA www.soccertvblog.com
FYI here's the Champions League schedule: Preliminary Round: June 25 and 28 Qualifying Round 1: July 9 or 10 and 16 or 17 Qualifying Round 2: July 23 or 24 and 30 or 31 Qualifying Round 3: August 6 or 7 and 13 or 14 Playoff Round: August 20 or 21 and 27 or 28 Group Stage Matchday 1: September 17 or 18 There used to be one week off in between Qualifying Round 3 and the Playoff Round, and Qualifying Round 1 used to not have many clubs. Now clubs including Celtic would have to play eight consecutive midweeks to reach the Group Stage.
https://www.livesoccertv.com/match/3333749/sarajevo-vs-celtic/ Nothing yet. But it's up to B/R and Celtic to strike a deal together.
It's more than "that game." If Celtic reaches the Playoff Round, they will have played 6 games before that. Does each club control rights to their home games? If so, B/R would need deals with Celtic, Sarajevo, and two other clubs.
Looks as if BR live will have some CL qualifiers starting this week. No Celtic but a few others are listed so I might have to reup.
5 matches this week on BRLive from the 1st leg of the 1st Qualifying Round. While it looks like no Europa League matches, another service - laola1.tv will have 4 matches from the EL. TV schedules: CL - http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-cl-tv/ EL - http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-el-tv/ SA www.soccertvblog.com
The only BR game between clubs who have reached the CL Group Stage within the last ten years is Astana vs. CFR Cluj.
The number of Europa League matches on laola1.tv on Thursday has increased to 8 - http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-el-tv/ SA www.soccertvblog.com
Number of matches available in the US for next week's 2nd leg matches in the UEFA Champions League (July 16/17) currently at 7 (BRLive & laola1.tv) - http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-cl-tv/ SA
The number of Europa League matches on laola1.tv today is an impressive 13!! http://soccertvblog.com/uefa-el-tv/ SA
Between B/R live and LAOLA there are 10 live matches on today!! Includes Malmo for you Yanks Abroad fans!!
I have no interest in LAOLA. I see 3 B/R Live matches today out of 50 or so games. All 3 games in the 3 PM EDT time slot, naturally. Really, could Turner do any worse than this? Outside of a non functioning stream I doubt it. The no commentary UCL qualifier matches have been awesome, too. What a bunch of unprofessional cheapskates. They obviously have no pride in what they produce or their brand.
