I'd rather do the per-match thing simply because I'd only pay for one match if I really wanted to watch it. As it is, I've basically just paid for access and watched a little bit of B/R Live content because I had that access. Canceling today was a very easy decision. I can live without full match replays of Benfica-Ajax, for instance.
Interesting that Univision Deportes shows the same games as Turner. I thought that they might show a game or two different from Turner.
Something I completely forgot to mention in my B/R Live complaint from the other day is that the highlight show I had technical issues with also had the most out of sync audio I've ever experienced. There was legitimately a five-second difference between the video and audio. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone dealing with B/R Live shenanigans. My canceled subscription is active through MD4, but I may try Univision Now after (the standalone subscription since YTTV doesn't have the Univision networks). The site says live broadcasts can be replayed for three days, but I can't find any info about whether or not you can access all the matches not shown on TV either live or via replay. If anyone knows, please clue me in.
You’ll be able to watch the overflow matches live (Univision Now is listed as a provider to authenticate on the Univision Deportes app/website) but not on replay as they do not appear to be archived. Note that Univision Deportes does not have connected TV apps.
Well, that defeats the purpose since I'm in the office during all the matches and only watch sparingly while at work. I wouldn't hesitate to give UN a go for $7.99/mo. if it offered full replay access to all matches like B/R Live. Damn.
Instead of spending 3 bucks a game for B/R live.......I think i'll just learn Spanish and watch for free on Univision lol
My info is based on checking it out on the first CL/EL match week. They may have started to archive the matches on either Univision Now or Univision Deportes since then, but the overflow games weren't accessible on UN and the games weren't archived on UD when I checked. Additionally, on the roku at least, the method for retrieving archived content (the games/shows shown on UDN, Gala, and Unimas) is pretty clunky.
Thanks for the info. I'm good through MD4, so I'll wait and see if any group matches not on TNT are worth paying for after that. Honestly, I'd probably rather have something like B/R Live for the Europa League than for the untelevised CL matches right now.
ugh! Forgot to set-up my DVR before leaving for work this morning. Can anyone let me know which channel is showing Inter x Barca so I can set it up remotely? (the online guide doesn't specify which match TNT is showing, but I'm guessing its that one?).
Inter-Barça on both Univision and Univision Deportes Napoli-PSG on TNT and Unimás Spurs-PSV on Galavision
The Univisión commentator is beyond terrible! Next time I’ll just pay the $3. You get what you pay for with soccer coverage in the U.S.
If the audio is poorly mixed like the TNT games then it is not worth the $3. I am trying to hear the commentators during the CSKA-Roma match and can only hear the crowd noise.
Sounds like my dream. I might be willing to pay $4 not to hear any commentators, just natural stadium sound.
Yep, that's ideal. I don't mind soccer announcers since they have a nice cadence and let the match unfold without feeling the need to pound the viewer over the head. But if I could regularly watch basketball and football with just ambient noise from the stadium I'd be in heaven. Football announcers are the absolute worst. There's so much dead time they treat the game like a human interest story: "We got a chance to talk to Johnny Football this week and he's such an impressive young man. He takes THREE real classes that a normal student would take. Wow!" Watching a football game is like watching an infomercial for the sport. ESPN actually streams some alternate broadcasts of big college sporting events without announcers. They're all automatically the best American sports broadcasts every year.
Have you guys noticed BR/Live showing a free game per day? I got to watch Lazio/Marseille in English due to that today
Somebody should have mentioned this before the match days Would have been cool for me to test the waters. Hope it happens next match days.
Do you mean that they pick the game (which is what MLB does) or you pick any game but once you start it cannot get another free game?

When I can get the TNT stream to work, the coverage of the fan violence surrounding AEK-Ajax is... poor. TNT crew just not prepared to cover the complexities of global soccer.
Turner just hiring a few athletes Americans may have heard of + Kate Abdo just doesn't make for a sharp set-up. I really don't care on normal matchdays before, after, HT -- but when it becomes a bit of a news event you can tell that NBC's team, particularly Lowe and White, are going to be better equipped to present it.
