Now might be a decent time to get a B/R Live monthly pass. Sept 14 - Dec 13 would get through the whole group stage for $40, then maybe wing it or go a la carte through the first couple knockout phases
I'll just find streams lol Tho I noticed the Napoli game is on BT Sports 3 which I get through my IPTV service so that'll work lol
Agreed, $40 is worth it for the whole group stage. So I guess you got me Turner and UEFA. I would gain a ton of weight if I relied on Univision at my local Mexican restaurant. Too much tortilla chips and Pacifico.
http://worldsoccertalk.com/champions-league-tv-schedule/ A good rundown on how you can watch this week. And if anyone wants to compare with how the listings looked last year: http://worldsoccertalk.com/2017/09/...ions-league-games-us-tv-streaming-sept-12-13/
Here's a comp from matchweek 1 2018 to 2017 2018 Broadcast TV (Spanish) Barcelona vs. PSV, Liverpool vs. Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid vs. AS Roma (English) none Standard Cable (English) Barcelona vs. PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool vs. Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax vs. AEK Athens, Real Madrid vs. AS Roma (Spanish) Inter Milan vs. Spurs, Monaco vs. Atletico Madrid, Schalke vs. Porto, Ajax vs. AEK Athens, Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Hoffenheim, Manchester City vs. Lyon, Valencia vs. Juventus Authenticated Streaming (English) Barcelona vs. PSV Eindhoven, Liverpool vs. Paris Saint-Germain, Ajax vs. AEK Athens, Real Madrid vs. AS Roma (Spanish) Brugge vs. Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade vs. Napoli, Galatasaray vs. Lokomotiv Moscow, Benfica vs. Bayern Munich, Plzen vs. CSKA Moscow, Young Boys vs. Manchester United Paid Streaming (English) Inter Milan vs. Spurs, Monaco vs. Atletico Madrid, Schalke vs. Porto, Brugge vs. Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade vs. Napoli, Galatasaray vs. Lokomotiv Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Hoffenheim, Manchester City vs. Lyon, Valencia vs. Juventus, Benfica vs. Bayern Munich, Plzen vs. CSKA MoscowYoung Boys vs. Manchester United 2017 Broadcast TV (Spanish) none (English) none Standard Cable (English) Manchester United vs. Basel, Barcelona vs. Juventus, Chelsea vs. Qarabag, Tottenham vs. Dortmund, Real Madrid vs. APOEL, Liverpool vs. Sevilla (Spanish) Barcelona vs. Juventus, Bayern Munich vs. Anderlecht, Real Madrid vs. APOEL, Liverpool vs. Sevilla, Authenticated Streaming (English *faceboook*) Celtic vs. Paris Saint-Germain, Feyenoord vs. Manchester City (Spanish) Chelsea vs. Qarabag, Bayern Munich vs. Anderlecht, Roma vs. Atletico Madrid, Olympiakos vs. Sporting CP, Benfica vs. CSKA Moscow, RB Leipzig vs. Monaco, Maribor vs. Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Napoli, Porto vs. Besiktas Paid Streaming (English) Bayern Munich vs. Anderlecht, Roma vs. Atletico Madrid, Olympiakos vs. Sporting CP, Benfica vs. CSKA Moscow, RB Leipzig vs. Monaco, Maribor vs. Spartak Moscow, Shakhtar Donetsk vs. Napoli, Porto vs. Besiktas --- So looking at the info above, what's interesting to me is that if (and this is a big if) you consider TV coverage in English and Spanish as the same -- there are more matches on available to you via television (bolded) in 2018 (10) than 2017 (7) this matchweek. But, of course, there are fewer matches available on TV in English. Please feel free to correct if I did anything wrong
Ummm, in English Fox would put games on FS1, FS2, Fox Regional and Facebook and would sublicense four English games (picks 5-8) to ESPN which were on ESPN3. (Plus Multimatch on Fox Soccer Plus/FS Matchpass.)* So ALL games were available en ingles on cable or over streaming. In Spanish there would be a game on Fox Deportes and one on ESPN Deportes, with four additional games in Spanish on ESPN3 (not necessarily the same ones that were on ESPN3 in English). The year before, ESPN would get 5 games (picks 4-8, with one game on ESPN2 and the other 4 on ESPN3). In Spanish, they would alternate the picks with Fox Deportes showing one game live and two on delay and ESPN having one on ESPN Deportes and four on ESPN3. *On days that they would show something other than CL on FS1, they would put a game on FS Plus with no multi match.
So if I wanna watch the Napoli game I can do so in Spanish on the streaming site? Is Univision's streaming platform free?
I think you have to authenticate with a cable/satellite/streaming provider. I've had no problems with DirecTV, but others here have had trouble, I think.
Pretty ridiculous that they're gonna charge people for the CL group stages. Tomorrow they're gonna show FCB v PSV on TNT and on UD. The more enticing game, Inter v Tottenham gets put on the back burner. I don't understand why Turner doesn't do what FOX did, and put the matches on their other networks, i.e. TBS and etc. This is what they do for March Madness.
Yeah but some folks in this forum really value cable over streaming, so I was just pointing out the traditional cable/broadcast matches. Definitely going to cost more for overall English language coverage online this season, no doubt. I liked the FOX cable + ESPN3 combo. I would never join facebook and didn't see the value in MatchPass so one match was unavailable to me.
https://www.tbs.com/schedule says they show The King Of Queens in the morning. From 10:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. they show Friends. From 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. they show American Dad.
I suppose from the Turner point of view, if they used all their channels with low/modest ratings for soccer it wouldn't be as productive as pushing as many fans as possible to B/R Live to recoup some of their rights investment and promote their B/R brand. This is now the third big Euro rights owner to move to the paid streaming model so, unfortunately, there must be some business logic to it.
I have to say, I probably fall in that category at the beginning of the group phase. Serve me up one of the better games, include highlights to all the others, and that is good enough. Choice is nice, but I don't have to be able to see every game.
What's the status of highlight shows? I don't watch these group stage games but used to watch highlight shows. I'm assuming Univision Deportes will air them but not TNT.
For English language highlights there's the 30 minute post-match(es) show on TNT, which I'd assume will get you some or all of the afternoon's goals. And the the UEFA provided CL highlight show streams on B/R Live from 9pm ET https://live.bleacherreport.com/soccer/soccer-tournament/events/uefa-cl-highlight-show-1/52253 Monthly or annual subscription needed.
I was referring to the fact that you put only the Facebook games under authenticated streaming while omitting the ESPN3 games. Between cable TV and authenticated streaming, all games were offered (in English at least).
I forgot which ones were in English and which ones were in Spanish. Point taken! I'd happily go back to last year as someone who streams matches at work.
Streaming links are clear for the first matches here https://www.univisionnow.com/ For 3pm ET, not sure. I'd look here for the non-televised/stream only matches https://www.univision.com/deportes
Theoretically, all games are available on univision.com/deportes. I click on the link, get asked for authentication, and get a couple of commercials, but when the game is supposed to come on, I get an error message. (This happened for both games on a Mac running Safari.) It's working fine for me on the Univision Deportes iPhone app.
