The Sun is as accurate on transfer fees and salaries as a random African soccer website is.

I'm reporting your comment to Ghana Web.

But you don't need to worry- they'll get it wrong anyway.

That's great, but what happens when Overwatch is no longer the go to game? I mean, they may still play StarCraft but it has long since gone past it's peak and the biggest league in South Korea is no longer on TV. There will always be a search for the next "league" in a decade or so. I wonder what kind of cycle these leagues will have.

How long is his current contract? If it's in its last year, the price goes way down because the team has little leverage. If he's signed for, say, three more years - then 2.5 is too low. It's a big factor in these negotiations

Most top end GA contracts are 2+3 from what I remember hearing. So he is only in year 3 of a 5 year deal.

Probably 10-12 years. It's a fascinating business, but the problem is there's always a new game being released. I personally prefer something more deliberate than an FPS or MOBA, but those are the dominant genres because games are short and exciting. It's hard to get viewership for something like multiplayer EU4, which would take all day for a single game.

Terminus Legion, Atlanta United's largest supporter group, has over 1000 members. There are 11 local chapters in 4 states including a chapter in a chapter in Evansville, Indiana. Yes there a chapter in Indiana with talks of a chapter in Indianapolis. More chapters to come!

Key quote from the article: "If the Overwatch League were to hit multiple home runs in those areas, its revenue would put it on par with the WWE, and above that of Major League Soccer, North America’s premier football league."

Your welcome. I was wrong. There are chapters in 5 states. Also, the next home game versus DC is about to be sold out.

I'm still confused why battle-oriented video games are regarded as Esports and/or lumped in with sports as an entertainment category. Yes, it's a contest with teams and no predetermined outcome, but so are game shows and Survivor and those aren't regarded as sports. And I'm not trying to be a old fogey, here, I simply fail to see why the need for these comparisons as the niche activity becomes more popular.

I love this kind of stuff.

    Per this reporter's Twitter account:

"Falcons owner Arthur Blank says they're extending MLS seating capacity in new stadium to 42,000. Have sold over 31,000 season tix so far"
