After a very disappointing season where relegation was only avoided via the playoffs Die Löwen come into the new season where they are met by low expectations and turmoil off the pitch. Will the blue and white surprise or descend into 3. Bundesliga?

Meh. Decent effort. I like some of the young kids. Who knows where we will land?

First low-point of the season: red football socks... really?!?!? o_O

Lineup is Eicher – Kovac, Schindler, Degenek, Wittek – Kagelmacher, Adlung – Simon, Claasen, Rama – Okotie.

    After the first 45 minutes:

Not as bad as I feared, we were slightly better. Okotie always marked with 2 men. Crosses by Kovac are better than Angha's. Rama is looking feisty, if anyone is scoring today it will be him, Simon is very disappointing, totally invisible.

Starting with one loss ... Appears 2nd half was putrid. Need a home win next outing.

Poschner has quit. Lots of bad blood with leadership hinted at with his resignation letter. Interestingly, Aygün is doing interim Sportdirektor duties.

Apparently because Claudio Pizarro wants to stay in Germany and is without a team they started an 1860 rumor. Froehling had to state they have no money to pay him salary with.

Id like to see Benno Möhlmann as sport director.

Second loss in the second game. I again saw some positve developement, even more so than last game. Actually I'm pretty pleased with the game :D But yeah, the penalty was stupid (the foul, not the call). If we get a real poacher and a 10 I guess we'll have a good season (good meaning we'll have nothing to with any relegation :p)

Claasen was pretty good, as was Degenek

3rd game, and the positive signs continue. This time we even managed to score 2 goals, and (even better) managed to win against Hoffenheim. Sure, they aren't match fit yet, but as I said, the last 3 games were better than I expected.
While all of the players had a good game, I especially liked Wolf and Claasen.

Yep. But Im unsure if a 24 year old with not a great record would do well in 2nd Buli where defending is much better.

    Gerdy,
Thanks mate, appreciate the highlights. Great to see the player's joy after the win matching that of the fans for once! That giant Musik? Is looking like my new favorite.

So, a lot of things happened this week:
    • Ismaik came to visit Munich. He had talks with the club and was happy that things are developing in the right direction. Not only became he a poet ("There are four seasons and I love them all. It's the same with 1860" and "I love the blue. I love Munich. I love 1860. I never regretted investing in the club. It's a fantastic experience"), but there were also some talks about new players (at least 2 new signings that will improve the squad), a "new" philosophy ("have more home-grown players in the 1st team"), thus investing more in the youth academy and last but not least, looking to build a new stadium for the team ("If the city is cooperative, there's a plan and everyone is serious about it, then financing a stadion is doable. If the facts are on the table, money isn't an issue.") Hear, hear.
    • Rumour has it we signed FCK's Mugosa on a 3 year deal.
    • Before that we supposedly were interested in Nuremberg's Sylvestr. There were reports that the team has to have a 2 mio transfer plus by the end of the transfer window or face a points deduction. Honestly, I'd love to see Sylvestr at 60, I really rate that guy.
    • And last but not least, we're playing Mainz away in the 2nd round of the DFB cup. Not the easiest of draws, but hey ho, that's the cup for you.

Yeah, so we've signed Mugosa. He'll get #9, but won't be available for the next match. Stahl will also be unavailable, he's got problems with his knee
