He's proud of this also I suppose. If he knew what he meant

Trump wants ethnic cleansing in Syria to happen in a ‘humane way’ — but can’t define what that means

    Anyone care to help.

If I remember correctly Germany was at Normandy. They didn't help much either and they're now allies.

So, the US does have plans to take out Canada, or the UK, or even ********ing Luxembourg if we have to, but those plans are sitting in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused bathroom with a sign on the door saying "Beware of the Leopard". (apologies to Douglas Adams)

There's a difference between having plans and being prepared to execute them. It would take us, like, a week or two, to get all the troops and materiel in place to invade Canada, and it's the kind of thing people would notice.

When you simplify complicated issues too much, you end up fooling yourself and everyone else. I post what I posted elsewhere about what is going on behind the headlines you read:

As I have mentioned already, the Syrian civil war started with an effort to oust Iran out of Syria. It failed, except Iran was instrumental in bringing the Russians into the fight to help defeat the effort. After that fight was over, the Russians have been busy implementing the same strategy of booting Iran out of Syria. And they have been somewhat successful.

Today, Syria is largely a Russian client state while only a couple of years ago, Iran had proven (beyond any doubt) that any negotiated agreements that didn't involve Iran but only involved the Russians as representing the pro Assad side), weren't worth the piece of paper they were written on. The Russians have purged most of the Syrian government, even arrested some of the most influential members of Assad's family, to get rid of any voices in Syria that oppose their takeover of the country. Other than Assad's personal body guards, his palace guards, and the Syrian 4th division (led by his brother), every other force in Syria (other than the pro Iranian militia which the Israelis have a green light from the Russians to bomb) are basically Russian stooges.

There are 3 areas that the Russians don't control yet. One is actually close to the Golan, where pro Iran forces are dug in right next to Israel. The Russians tried to take over this area too, but the Syrian 4th division prevented them doing so. The area is regularly bombed by the Israeli air force, but that aerial campaign has been ineffective and the Israelis have been talking with the Russians to move into the area using their ground forces too. The Wall Street Journal recently had an article about the situation close to the Israeli border.
    https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-opens-a-second-front-along-israels-border-11570056375
Iran Opens a Second Front Along Israel’s Border
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its proxies control Syrian land near the Golan Heights.

Another region where Iran is fighting basically a joint Russian-Israeli assault is in the Deir Ezor region in eastern Syria and the border routes to Iraq. Pro Iran and Pro Russian forces have been fighting one another there as well. And this is also an area that the Israelis bomb on occasion.
    https://syria.chathamhouse.org/research/russian-iranian-conflict-erupts-in-deir-ez-zor
Russian-Iranian Conflict Erupts in Deir ez-Zor

The last area was the one occupied by US sponsored forces (under the umbrella of the "Kurds") in the north of Syria where the Turks are now operating. The Russians are happy to see the Americans gone and will try to carve a modus vivendi with the Turks on control of this region. Iran will pout, and protest, but unless the Turks go overboard, this will succeed too. The Turks will get a small piece of the pie in Syria's north to appease them and their feeling they lost the Syrian civil war, but the Russians will basically be in position to control Syria all to themselves.

At that point, the fight to kick Iranian backed forces out of the Golan, and the out of the eastern region of Syria, will go in full swing. The Russians and the Israelis will be conducting the fight. And Syria will become a full-fledged Russian client state. For the Israelis (although not all of them) who publicly have stated they prefer ISIS to Iran on their border, having the Russians take over Syria is a swell idea. Trump is on board. The American military complex, in the meantime, is having a fit.

Of course Botswana was known as the Bechuanaland Protectorate and forces from there did serve in WW2. Not necessarily in Normandy but in Italy and North Africa.

Supposedly during the war some Bechuanaland units were attached to US Army units. I'm curious to know how that worked out.

When I first saw this I thought it might be parody. History still will decide if he is the worst US President ever but I think it can be confirmed he is the most stupid.
