It's not accurate. It's not funny. It's not clever. It's not analysis. It's facile. It shows an actual lack of understanding of reality tv (can't believe I'm typing that). It's mediocre. It's a time when viewers need to understand what's going on at the highest levels of govt.

I'm not able to excerpt from it because whenever I go to another tab, this reply space is blank when I come back.

The only objection I have to Cillizza's piece is that huge swaths of the "news" business are aiding and abetting this White House As Reality TV thing. Including O'Brien's employers, and maybe even herself, though I'm in no position to say.

 

This is just screaming for the Baghdad Bob photo.

 

I'm with Chris. I don't get her objection. I mean, maybe she has a good one, but just saying everything about the story is terrible is Trumplike.

Jerry is in the fortunate position where he doesn't have to give a ********. The only thing that plays worse than an arrogant New Yorker in California, is an arrogant New Yorker Klansman. The people have the governor's back on this one.

 

I'm NOT with Chris. He blithely critiques this disastrous administration with the same eye as he would a season of The Apprentice or Big Brother. Bad takes like his don't belong in a CNN Politics section.

 

We're speaking about different things. I don't read the guy, don't care about him. I am saying, when somebody comes and just says "that column is terrible," as Soledad O'Brien did, I am deeply unimpressed. If that is all you have to offer, don't bother showing up.

As for the column itself, eh ... unobjectionable. The Trump White House is like a reality show. Well yeah, it is. I didn't need a column to tell me that, but I can't argue with that, either.
