From Ernst Bouwes: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/column...=euro2008&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1&cc=5901 this should be the final word.
Good read. This is the kind of tragedy that can present a team with a complete polar opposites of opportunities. Unity and togetherness that can transform a team to the next level; internal bickering and instability will spiral a team to inevitable defeat. Oranje can (& will, I believe) rally behind Boula & his wife and transform this negativity to something special on the pitch. If Hiddink's teams always have an advantage because of his "X" factor, well then, it's just been neutralized by Oranje's togetherness over this tragedy.... Call me corny if you will, but there's a lot of truth in this, as I'm sure most will admit...
It's very nice to see that the team seems to be rallying around Boula. It's very much the opposite of the stereotype the media has about Dutch teams and their supposed infighting and bickering.
Agree. There was another column up this morning from the fellow that covers the Bundesliga noting that Germany took a page out of MVBs play book and went to a 4-2-3-1 yesterday against Portugal. Maybe MVB is really a coaching genious and we didn't know it. see: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/column...=euro2008&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos2&cc=5901
