Hi guys, sorry if I'm creating an unnecessary thread, I didn't see anywhere to put this. A friend and I will be making a trip up to Denver this weekend for a show and I wanted some advice on things to do. I haven't been since I was a kid and I want to do some very "quintessentially Denver" things while I'm there. So if you could pick like... 5 things to do and the 5 best places to eat, what would you choose? I really appreciate the advice, if you guys need any tips regarding your trip up here for the game, let me know.
Things to Do: 1. See a concert at Red Rocks (or tour during the day) 2. Rockies baseball and a night in LoDo 3. Cherry Creek North 4. Drink our Microbrews 5. Rent a B-Cycle and ride around downtown/Highlands Places to Eat: 1. Jack n Grill's Green Chile 2. Casa Bonita (not really for the food) 3. My Brother's Bar or Cherry Cricket 4. Root Down 5. Anywhere on Larimer St.
Awesome, thanks. I remember going to Casa Bonita when I was a kid and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Might have to check it out again while I'm there, even if the food sucks. Is the British Bulldog pretty cool? I was thinking about checking that out as well.
The Bulldog is a great little soccer bar downtown. Great staff, good food, decent beer selection. Don't wear your RSL gear. Enjoy your time in Denver.
If you can splash a little cash on a really high quality dinner, eat at The Fort. Another idea is to visit the Coors brewery (you get 3 free beers at the end). Both are on the west side of town (as is Red Rocks) so you could make that an entire afternoon/evening. Another thing to do in the Golden area is to visit Lookout Mountain and Buffalo Bill's grave and Museum.
Went to the show @ Twist and Shout records, bought a 442 at Tattered Cover, went to the Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Zoo, shopped at the 16th street mall, ate at Casa Bonita, and some other things I can't remember! Only had a couple days there, so unfortunately I didn't get to do a few of the things I wanted (like go to the British Bulldog), but it was fun.
I'm gonna be in Denver for a conference this week... Think there's any odds that the British Bulldog or anywhere else will have the U23 olympic qualifying game on on Thursday night (given that March Madness picks back up on Thursday also)?
If the bar staff seem a little confused, tell them it's on on Universal Sports Network, which at the Bulldog (or Three Lions) is channel 625. Game starts at 7pm MT.
