I agree, the ref has to make sure that the 10 yards are given and if not he should have produced the yellow and made them back up.

Still T&T did a great job at the end holding the ball and taking up time without resorting to diving and rolling around on the grass.

It'll be good to see 68 year-old Dwight Yorke actually in a World Cup. If I were him, I wouldn't play at all until the WC. He wouldn't want to end up like Chris Armas.

You're right, although Cuba was given an invite. the others actually earned their way in, T&T the hard way.

    Congrats T&T !!!!
Just spoke to a friend in Port of Spain, he told me that the whole country is on the streets partying!
As a fellow Caribbean, I am proud of Trinidad, following Haiti in 74 and Jamaica in 98 to be the third Caribbean country the last 40 years to be in the World Cup!
    Go T&T!!
    :)

Way to go T&T - we've been pulling for you all the way. I played with a couple of T&T guys (Andy Salandy and Carlos Lee) in college in the 80's - great players and great guys all around. I had a feeling Bahrain would show their true class (or lack of) at some point - and they and their fans certainly did in the last 5 minutes. For anyone arguing the goal from the steal off the keeper - read the rule books - the act of a keeper putting a ball back into play is a seperate rule from the "one hand must be on the ball for possession" rule - the transfer from hand to foot is considered one motion that cannot be interrupted by an opposing player.

Yep, Congratulations to T&T :). They took it to Bahrain away and advanced, the better and classier team won. Credit as well to the reps from Asia in here who have been all class all morning, thanks guys for making this thread a pleasure to read instead of a flame-fest.

Well there aren't too many Bahraini's on this site to turn it into one. Even on the Asian forum, most aren't even from the middle east over there.

Christoper Birchall scored the equaliser in Port of Spain. He was substituted after 20 min today as he picked up an injury.

Same here. I have somthing personal agaisnt Uruguay ever since Diego Forlan bad mouth Ecuador for no apparent reason. He Basically was furious that we made it to the World Cup and they didn't. He said that how could a team who sucks and makes lucky midfield shots make it to the world cup and Uruguay stay on fifth place in the preliminaries.

BAd sportsmanship if you ask me.

Great Australia! See you in Germany! TNT Congrats! I'll see you in Gfemany as well. My Trini girl has an excuse to come to Germany now;)

What I wanted to happen has happened. This feels so goood
