Interesting article on Salvador Pliego Jr,. He was born in México City and came to the U.S. as a child with his family.

He was part of the NY Red Bulls U-11 academy, and subsequently was called to a U-14 camp by the nads. Pliego Jr. made his high school team varsity team however, NYRB rules deemed that he could not play for both high school and the academy team. He looked for a club elsewhere and decided to join TSF Academy.

His idyll with the Mexican national team started when the FMF noticed him playing for the NYRB academy and asked the club for permission to speak with his parents. He was poised to play for México as his father and his grandfather are die hard fans of El Tri.

Pliego Jr. has over 6 professionals teams interested in him.

I don't see anything special on these player, Santi Gimenez is a tronco, Figueroa is a normal player too and has the physical of a kid of 12 years.

Fue una idiotez que Macias y Dominguez no hayan jugado el pasado mundial sub-17. Magaña and Kevin Lare are mediocres players.

He started in one academy of the MLS, period, it's a case like Vela.

Alvarez and Montes actually are in a better moment but EPB is a better player.

You want to tell me which mls academy is that?

Not really the same case as Vela since he was at Chivas for a bit, and anyways Vela spent most of his development in Europe.
    Lol

    Consider any future opinions disregarded.

Tiempo al tiempo... look the mediocrity of this generation of the sub-20.

Pulisic started in the U.S.A, a menor academy of a team of Pennsylvania.

I saw Figueroa and the guy is a normal player, hahaha, man, you live in the u.s.a, I see the real talent here in Mexico and know the fuerzas basicas of some teams, my little bro is with Pachuca Sub-15. This friday starts the regional of the North west, zone that saw born Tecatito, HH, Montes, etc.

The squad that is going to France to play the Montaigu tournament:

Santi Giménez made the squad. I still think he should go with the the U17's to the Concacaf U17...

Let's hope he has a great tournament and Arteaga calls him up...

Julián Hinojosa, Gibrán Rayo, and Ulysses Llanez also made the squad @NoobSaibot @Overachiever

Congrats to your little bro dude! Now on the Figueroa part....

I don't have insights on youth setups like you do but I have seen Figueroa play for the senior team and imo he is a player to watch out for.

The Galaxy U16 won the Aspire Tri-Series by defeating Olympiakos. Ulysses Llanez, recently called to the Mexican natl. U16, scored a hat-trick. Efraín Álvarez also scored.

I think Mexicans are getting taller. This is anecdotal but my dad grew up in Mexico City and says when he used to ride the metro he was generally the tallest dude and he's only 5'10". Recently he went back and now he says he notices the younger guys are taller then him. Maybe better nutrition who knows.

I met Luis Enrique Hernandez's cousin. He was one of my favorite players on the U-17 team with Gudino. It hasn't exactly worked out for him, though. I think he's on loan to Coras.
