Hello all, I started this thread looking for help form those who have purchased tickets to the Azores from CA. Apparently this process has been hectic and extremely expensive with SATA basically creating a monopoly and charging ridiculous prices on flights. Does anybody have any recommendations on airlines and such? Thanks again
Try Kayak.com Your best bet is to find a cheap flight to the east coast from San Fran/Oakland to let's say New Jersey, Boston, New York or Toronto Canada and then catch a sata flight or an Air transat flight from Toronto.
In the summer months there's what's colloquially (and sometimes formally) known as "The Azores Express" -- a weekly non-stop flight from Oakland to Terceida (and back) for a reasonable price worth checking out. It's typically flown on a known carrier under a charter name.
