Just get your ticket and line up with all the yanks at the front of the stadium because the police will escort you to the yank section with everybody else, if you desire regardless of where your ticket is.

We WERE in the upper deck but not in the uppermost ROWS.
Thus in either section to the side of us, but mostly the immediate section to the right IIRC, the locals who were in the higher rows had an easy target.

I'm bringing a couple banners like last time. They also serve as a good beer repellant.

Perhaps they've moved us up into a higher row this time?

I'm gonna try to find my '09 ticket and compare.

Does the row on our ticket not matter in the general section? I think mine is 6.

I think the row shouldn't matter but I believe by the time we were corralled to our seats by the federales in 2009 those upper rows were already occupied.

Perhaps we need to get inside as soon as possible and stake a claim higher up ?

I found my '09 ticket and it says "Fila G" (row 7) and seccion GENSUR.
I'm in row 8 this time.

Interestingly the ticket price was $150 for years ago. (140 now). Deflation in MEX I guess.

Kudos to all Yanks making the trip. I was there in 2001, and it remains a great memory.

Any idea how many are sitting in the US supporters section?

Azteca is going to be so amped.

And it could get reeaaaal ugly if we get an early goal and hold on for a while.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately won't be in Mex until early Tuesday. How much do you want for the General Sur tickets??

For those of you planning to hit the Salon Corona on Tuesday afternoon, I happened past it on my Sunday stroll and snapped a photo. It's above a Wendy's. At least for me, Google Maps doesn't find that location and also misplaces the address if you put it in manually.

I'll be there around 4:30, rolling solo, and look forward to seeing some familiar colors, if not faces...

It's something of a chain. There's another one by the Alemeda Central park and another by the zocolo.

Hey everybody. I'm at LAX en route to Mexico City! I'll definitely be at the pre-party at Salon Corona. BTW, thanks for the updated map info.

For those going from the pregame to Azteca via the metro:

How are we going to find each other before the match at Salon Corona? I'll be the 6'1 black dude wearing the Gold Cup red jersey, blue LA Dodgers hat, hanging with the petite blonde girlfriend. Should be easy to spot, right?

    Game on!

I assume when all the AO peeps leave at 5p we'll be the ones left. We''ll walk to the nearest Metro (looks to be the Sevilla stop or Insurgentes) transfer at Pino Suarez for the line 2. Take that down to Tasquena for the tram.

I'll be the white guy drinking a beer.. :)

Yep, was thinking the same thing. We'll be the ones with nowwhere to go at 5PM and an extra few minutes to empty the cup. I'll be in the vintage white Adidas striped USA tee.

By the way, Fox Sports Mexico just counted down the top 10 US/Mexico goals of the modern era. The one by a strikingly blond Beasley came in at #3. Had forgotten about that one...

I'm going to try to ask around and hopefully find some of you going on the metro before 5.

    Can't wait.

Was there in 2009, get ready for an emotional rollercoaster. My tips:
-I skipped the pyramids and went to four museums: National Anthropology,
Frieda Khalo. Chapultapec Castle. and the Museum of National Interventions.
Texans may enjoy the last one.
-Our Mexican supporter friends will be cool before the game but during the match and immediately
after give them a wide berth. For many of them this is a replay of the 1846-1848 War. THAT one.
-Thank the Riot Police, a simple 'Gracias para todos!' will do.
-Enjoy your beer shower, which will come after every goal, ours or theirs. Hope it is only beer.
-Sing in Spanish after the match. Everyone knows 'La Bamba,' 'Tequila,' and 'Feliz Navidad.’
GOOD LUCK AND 3 POINTS,'ESTADOS UNIDOS, JAMAS SERA VENCIDOS!'

Flying into Mexico City with a buddy on a whim to catch the game. Dont have tix. What would be the best idea? I saw the more expensive tix available on the TM mexico site but read I wont be able to purchase them online. Is it a bad idea to try to purchase tix at the azteca through the ticket booth or scalpers? Does anybody have extra tix? Have already PM'ed footfana
