FIFA.com is listing this friendly on their webpage but USSoccer.com is not. They have done this before but this makes sense to me because this friendly would be huge. I believe the last USA game in Seattle was a Gold Cup game against Grenada on July 4th. I won't hold it against Seattle for a poor showing. It's hard to get jacked up for a game against a country we "invaded with Marines on Golf Carts." Free beer to first person who can recall who said that and who they were interviewing while saying it. I'll sticky it tentatively.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 As soon as this game gets officially announced by US soccer my group will be booking flights. We'll have six or so in my group flying up for this one. I'm expecting a great atmosphere in Seattle for this one.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 A great atmosphere ... for all the Argentines and American posers wearing their Messi jerseys who will outnumber you 5 to 1 in the stands.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 I went to the USA vs Argentina game in New York a few years back and it was probably 60-40/50-50 crowd. It was the best 0-0 draw I've ever seen in person and it was only a friendly.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 I was there too, and it was amazing. I think seattle is going be the biggest pro-american venue we are going to have for any game in the near future. Looking forward to this one.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Sweet deals http://www.virginamerica.com/flights/airfare-deals.html
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Awesome ! 69 dollars one way from LA to Seattle ! I will have at least ten flying up with me, meeting up with a bunch more in Washington. As soon as this game is announced by US soccer im booking flights.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Oh yes. I remember that game and it was exactly the way my previous post described: All the American posers in their Argentina jerseys came out in droves and were all rooting for Argentina until it became apparent late that Argentina wasn't scoring on us. It was only then they "bothered" to cheer for their own country.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Couple things I like, -No need for Car as LightRail links from the airport to SODO and Downtown. -A west coast swing -A good team -A better crowd -Young city with girls gawhore So I might make this trip. However I think I'm going to fly the airline I have miles with which is American so I could get the upgrade to first.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Rumor has it, that 50,000 Messi/Argentina Jerseys have just been Ordered and all these people dont who the president of Argentina is, I also heard they have no idea where Argentina is on the map. But they still are going to be supporting Argentina.....
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 You think I'm kidding? That is exactly the kind of crowd that shows up in the US when the US plays Brazil, Argentina, or another soccer power. They're the worst kind of posers and gloryhunters.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 But it's Seattle, not Chicago or New York. Not that you think it'll make any difference.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Argentina will probably quash this match up here cuz they won't be able sell enough Messi kits in Seattle compared to the LA Rose Bowl trust funders that will flock en mass.. Plus Gulati hates Seattle.. we'll get the Greneda vs Cuba match in the next Gold Cup.. just watch
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 And as weird as this sounds a lot of ''those posers'' aren'American to begin with but people of Latin American descent who can't even support their own country.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 wah wah wah....... I'm of latin descent. Not that i don't agree with you but i say lets just go out there and support the USA the best we can and just show them how its really done.. one by one lil by lil ESTADOS UNIDOS will be the best and we will see all these people trying to jump on the band wagon.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 No I agree 100% I just hate it when every American fan tells me that Americans cannot support the US. For most of them they can but either like bandwagons, or more importantly forget that we are a melting pot. Back to the OT, do AO and SA have hotels ready?
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 I'll be very surprised if this actually comes to fruition. I would love as I have never gotten to see the USMNT play in person I just don't really believe its going to happen.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Why? It's listed on FIFA's site, ESPN noted it as well and USSoccer likes to wait until all the details are available before it shows up there.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 FIFA has listed stuff before without confirmation. SBI has already reported the match will likely not take place in Seattle. Too many unknowns.....
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Can you give me the link to that article?
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 So basically no news confirming or changing anything? Ok thanks!
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 How exactly is everybody so sure that it was Americans in Argentina shirts at the last friendly? They could have just been Argentine ex-pats,or Argentines who flew in from Argentina for the match. Argentines are white so maybe you all just confused them for Americans I guess.
Re: Travel/Tickets: USA versus Argentina in Seattle, 3/26/2011 Steve Goff is now saying the location of the match is unknown, as Seattle has faded from the conversation.
