This article that talks about Real Madrid's new interest in Gooch, states that if it happens it may pave the way for Woodgate to get a permanent transfer to Middlesbrough:

Middlesbrough representatives were at the Twente v AZ game last wednesday and afterwards had a meeting with the Twente chairman and Twente striker Blaise N'Kufo. Twente apparently are willing to sell, you still have to come to an agreement with N'Kufo himself though.

I don't think Downing will go. The aim of the chairman is to try and bring in youngsters where possible through the academy. So will not look to sell any of the good ones, unlrss there is a bid significantly above market-value.

Player already gone: Christie, Graham, Xavier, Parnaby,

Changes I believe will happen in the summer.

Players who will definetly leave: Mendieta, Knight, Kennedy

Possible: Euell, Rochemback (if he still wants to leave), Davies (depending on right back situation), Morrison (talk of going to Rangers but hope not)

Considerations to go out on loan: Johnson, Wheater, Hines, Turnbull, Bates. Steele

Positions who they will want to bring in: Striker, right-back, right-midfield, left-back and a box-to-box midfielder.
