Seems like Everton may be interested in Viking Stavanger's (Norwegian league) 18 year old Icelander Birkir Bjarnason. Evidently, Roy Hodgson has said he has the qualities and character and talent to make it in the Premiership. Reminds me of a Cesc Fabregas type of player, has an excellent pass.

If that is true and Dempsey is on his way to Everton, I would have to say that, that is VERY good news for Everton.

In addition to that it I think that having another American on the team would encourage Tim Howard to stay, which is something we definetly need.

What positions does Everton need to improve on?

I think we need another striker, and a better a goal keeper, signing Tim Howard to stay permently would be a step in the right direction.

Have you seen Deuce play? His game is somewhat similar to Cahill's, and both are probably best suited in a withdrawn forward kind of role.

His mad flow, though, is unparalleled. :p

We also need a younger defensive mid than Carsley. He's getting old, and if we get a fast and better player to take his spot, then we can send two center mids forward instead of keeping Neville back with Carsley.

But the question is WHO should we get....

I am all for us going after Fernando Torres, who is rumored to be leaving Athletico Madrid in the next year. I know that money is an issue but I think that he would do well here at Everton.

You signed a young Australian international goal-keeper this week.

    http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=15353

Is around 17 years old, and comes out of a very very talented Australian under 17's side.

    Others in that side include:

    James Wesolowski (Leicster)
    Kaz Patafta (Benfica)
    David Williams (Brondby)
    Paul Giannou (PSV)
    Matthew Spiranovic (FC Nurenburg)
    James Troisi (Newcastle)
    Scott Jamieson (Bolton)

With Australians traditionally producing good goalkeepers it should be a good pickup.

However, there is an amazing young 20 year old in the A-League, named Danny Vukovic, he is pushing Schwarzer for the Australia spot for the Asia cup, and could definately play second fiddle to Howard until he reitres.

    Amazing reflex's.

Why are we always linked with Icelandic or Scandinavian players?

Except this guy is really good at a very good age. Would be a massive signing I think for us.

Weird isn't it, yet we let one of the best icelanders leave the country without a bid.

I'm confused as to why we're trying to sign another young striker. Don't Vaughan and Anichebe have us covered in that department for the moment?

Billy Clarke seems to be a class above Championship level, but I have reservations too.

Why not take 1 million pounds off, give them Richard Wright...that would be the optimal solution (seriously)

I just read that Wright let Malta score on him when he was capped for the England National Team. That can't be good.

Hertha, I noticed you like BlackStar. 'Thieves in the Night' and 'Respiration Remix' are my cuts!

Yeah ... I know. It'd still be pretty sweet (for me anyway). Going from my favorite team to my second ...

What was the reason in the end for not signing Delron Buckley?

Wonky knees might've had something to do with it.

We have enough injury cases as it is.
