Might've overreacted a bit but think about it.

Jona going to MLS would be similar to putting the nail to the coffin.

Guardado is a step away from the retirement league.
Herrera isn't impressing anyone right now, future uncertain.
Jona, probably our best performing Euro midfielder atm (who seems like he's in Osorio's future plans, got called up to the last games), going to MLS?

We all know our MLS players have more trouble earning their spot on the national team than MX/Euro players, regardless of how good they're doing (Looking at Gio as an example).

I doubt that's really going to happen though.. (now, at least)

Hopefully the next gen of Mexican midfielders are ready to step up to the plate.

If he's going to MLS he is certainly more likely to get worse than better. He won't get called up regularly for sure.
We haven't done shit as a NT to warrant hiking up prices for our players like Argies/Brazilians do. Thats why players that stay in Liga MX stagnate when they don't move abroad. So ******** that pacto de caballeros shit.

Wow, already talking about the next gen. Herrera is 26, Gio is 27, and Jona is 26.

Herrera needs to move to Italy, he's rotting in porto. Corona/Layun/Jimenez can stand to wait for the summer but hopefully they move soon too. JDS, Guardado should stay in their current teams if the only other options are MLS/China.

They don't usually hike the price up of players based on NT performances. Argies and Brazilian duses can command higher fees because they are more established in Europe and are seen as less of a crap shoot compared with Mexican players. And Mexican teams aren't broke (well most arent) so European teams don't have the same leverage on them that they do on Argentine clubs.

    Market conditions, breh.

And our NT isn't deep enough to deny players just because they play in MLS...

If the US with a mostly MLS side can beat Mexico with a mostly LigaMX side with a couple euros, then we aren't quite at the point of being able to discard these guys for playing in MLS...

even if LigaMX is a superior league...

If Jona wants to go to MLS, would like to get him as LAFC's 1st DP. Don't see it as a bad idea, unless he only wants to play with Gio.

I don't. He won't be challenged like playing in Europe. He is still good enough to play in Villareal. I wouldn't mind seeing him in Liga MX.

Understood, but it really won't make him worse...

And even teams like Brazil will continue to call up and play duses playing in China...

We have no excuse not to call up MLS-based players if they are healthy and in form. Maybe when we have 3 or 4 players in Europe at every position, but not now.

    It will eventually.
thats why they're pretty mediocre as of late.

I could see a number of players Orbelin, Pizarro, Chofis, Guti etc replacing the dead weight that dare transfer to china/MLS (Herrera/Guardado/JDS).

It could, but Gio is still better than 95% duses from LigaMX so I'm not sure why it would be much different for Jona...

They've lost their identity in terms of style and I don't think it has much to do with duses playing in China.

They were pretty defensive under Dunga and didn't play with the same flare... Tite is another defensive duse...

IIRC, they've used essentially a 4-6-0 formation under Tite. Not really the Brazil I remember even if they are still very talented.

Lol, they don't seem to rate Jona anyway on the NT so this is probably moot...

If the up-and-coming duses can get to Europe ASAP, then I am much more inclined to agree with you tho...

Also, to add to your statement, most Argies and Brazilian duses possess EU passports which is always convenient for European teams... Sadly, not many Mexican possess EU passports which automatically enables them to occupy the non-EU quota...

Lol, they all have an Italian abuela apparently...

A lot of them do. I'm not sure about most. Didn't they uncover some fraud in Italy about that a few years back?

Jona should go to MLS. He gets injured once a month anyway. Might as well get paid to rehab in LA.

He has the talent to play anywhere in Europe. But if he chooses MLS, may he play for LAFC. [emoji41]

petition to create an MLS subforum in the abroad thread so I don't have to read any discussion (including but not limited to transfer rumors, suggesting which players should go there, etc) about it in the regular one.

LAFC has a lot of money, and will be looking to sign players soon. If Jona is looking to come play in MLS, he would be a great DP, plus they could probably set up a deal with Villarreal to let him stay until the 2018 winter transfer window on loan.

I actually see Galaxy struggling for the next 2 seasons and next under Onalfo and his staff.
