LOL Porto and Benfica aren't strangers to the knock out rounds of the champions league and sporting aren't bad. The league isn't the strongest in the world but there are some good teams that play there and Portugal has developed many great players (including Falcao and James who did really well there and won trophies).

It’s the Argie league the price Porto gets for players is laughable

When you play in the champions league year in and year out you get to compare players and a team to all the leagues in Europe, so you get a sample size against very good competition which makes it easy to compare. So ya its not the same in that regard and Porto gets top dollar for players because they've turned out lots of really good players for years, again Falcao, James and even Guarin being prime examples.

That team culture seems very cancerous with Neymar. The club in general simply buying great players who seem to not really be fully motivated by winning as opposed to maxing the amount of money they make and enjoying Paris. That said it could change and you'd have to imagine James with Mbappe would be a nightmare to defend against, Verrati/James/and a good holding midfielder would be a nasty midfield.

Could be anything with Simeone. Some Brits speculate that he prefers taller more physical fullbacks. But that is all just speculation.

or it could just be that he didn't perform ..... Juan Fran is no physical specimen. Arias does imo deserve at least 1 more year but AM has become a powerhouse in the past 5-6 years so Simeone has the right to pick and choose as he likes/

Santi is a serviceable fullback, but lacks the killer instinct that Simeone looks for in his players.

    Millos buying Arbolera?

Any rumors on the Venezuelan price tag? The Mexicans were offering 3 for him which is insanely low

That would actually be a really good fit, much better fit then Sanchez imo. They are acquiring a team that will go out and try to play nice soccer and have a lot of possession and Cuellar fits that style as a CDM. Felipe Anderson, Lanzini, Wilshere, Arnautovic at 9, Samir Nasri they have done a good job of having a vision of how they want to play and getting the right type of player. It may not be smooth or perfect but its gonna be interesting how that team plays next year, they had some games where they looked really good passing the ball, Lanzini and Feliper specifically I really think are top quality players.

That’s a lot especially if they don’t get him now and he has a few months to adapt
