Boy sah....di boy Addlery really a find him scoring boots...every match I just keep on being more and more impressed!
Cruz Azul came out strong, but PRI was able to take advantage of their chances...very happy. Here's to more of the same scoreline in the return leg! :)

The Islanders had a hell of a run.

They exit the CCL championship race in the semifinals stage, after playing 12 games, with a combined 6-3-3 record (including a 5-0-1 [W-D-L] home record [two wins against Mexican Teams: Santos Laguna & Cruz Azul]) in the first ever CCL; and left behind four Central American champions in their path: Liga Ajuelense, Tauro FC, Municipal and Marathon.

I just always hate going out on PK's...but it was an AMAZING run.
And it brought a lot of attention to the Islanders. Sad to see it end, but it was an incredible journey.

More of the same for next year! And a better ending to the USL season this year as well =)

Your Jamaican breatherin got injured in the match, hope he recovers before the season starts. Right now we are down a couple of important players thnx to this game.

Arrita, Addlery and I think Guadette may have a light injury. Put that un top of Oseis and Myers two month injury and Ojedas injury a good chunk of our team is out.

Looks like the Islanders know their foes now. Toronto FC is coming to town.

Just wondering, or better yet making sure I heard right from what the Costa Rican announcers were saying during the Haiti-Grenada game: both Fabrice Noel and James Marcelin are still with the PR Islanders, right?

And good luck to the CFU teams taking part this time around. Of course, given my heritage, I'm still a bit disappointed that Tempete didn't pull off the first qualification for the Haitian team (assuming that the Stade Silvio Cator meets CONCACAF requirements), but you guys are right, these teams with mostly Caribbean talent on board are doing a huge service to the region as a whole.

    LOL

Sorry, should have specified this: I am American, but my parents and my heritage are from Haiti, so I identify with both teams (so that 2-2 draw worked out just well for me; and besides, 6-5-4 [or is it 6-5-5 now?] for Haiti all-time says that the US should be the happier team with just a draw). And from having watched all 90 minutes of it: yesterday's game sucked. :(

    Quick update:

As of today, the Puerto Rico Islanders and W Connection have qualified for the next stage of the CCL (Groups C and D respectively) after the Islanders finished off Toronto 1-0 on aggregate and W Connection's Toussaint punished some awful RBNY mistakes at the end of the first half of today's game to win the series 4-3.

Tomorrow (later today :D ), San Juan Jabloteh will have the chance to make it 3-for-3 if they can overturn their 2-0 deficit at San Francisco at home.

3-0, 3-2 aggregate means a clean sweep for CFU teams.

    WOW!

All three CFU teams through to the group stages!

Warner should push to have an automatic CFU spot in the Group Stages in the next CCL.

LOL (as in: do we really have to ask someone to give his own region [CFU] respect?) :D How he hasn't done that already is beyond me (or at the very least, CFU1 and possibly CFU2 getting top seeds in the prelim round).

But any changes will have to wait for the 2011-12 edition.
