Yes, I said OUR. Of course some of us have more claims than others to certain teams, but when it comes to these competitions I'm sure we all want to see our CFU clubs progress and do well. I'm of course pulling for my side Harbour View (Jamaica) first, but I am lending the SAME support to the other Caribbean teams as well! "They don't want to see the Caribbean unite, because they know the Caribbean is a force they cannot fight" ---------------------------------- Our Caribbean representatives are: Joe Public FC (Trinidad & Tobago) Harbour View FC (Jamaica) Puerto Rico Islanders (Puerto Rico) ---------------------------------- ------------------- First Leg: Tuesday August 26th 2008; Joe Public FC (TRI) v. New England Revolution (USA) (**This match will be shown on Fox Soccer Channel at 8pm EST**) Wednesday August 27th 2008; LD Alajuelense (CRC) v. Puerto Rico Islanders (PR) (**This match will be shown on Fox Soccer Channel at 10pm EST**) Thursday August 28th 2008; Harbour View FC (JAM) v. UNAM Pumas (MEX) (**This match will be shown on Fox Soccer Channel at 8pm EST**) ------------------- Second Leg: Tuesday September 2nd 2008; New England Revolution (USA) v. Joe Public FC (TRI) Wednesday September 3rd 2008; Puerto Rico Islanders (PR) v. LD Alajuelense (CRC) Thursday September 4th 2008; UNAM Pumas (MEX) v. Harbour View FC (JAM) (Don't know the TV schedule yet for the 2nd legs) ------------------- To set up possible groupings... If Joe Public FC are to advance they join Group C, which consists of: Atlante FC (MEX) CD Olimpia (HON) Montreal Impact (CAN) or Real Esteli (NIC) If Harbour View FC are to advance they join Group B, which consists of: Houston Dynamo (USA) C.D. Luis Angel Firpo (SAL) Deportivo Jalapa (GUA) or San Francisco FC (PAN) If Puerto Rico Islanders are to advance they join Group D, which consists of: Santos Laguna (MEX) CSD Municipal (GUA) Tauro FC (PAN) or Chivas USA (USA)
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League I"m pulling for Caribbean clubs in the prelim round becuase I want to visit your islands/countries to attend games. Good luck all Caribbean teams!
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League Do you travel to most Dynamo away games? If so, do you get good member discounts?
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League Mods can you put an [R] in the thread title for me?
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League done use the champions league forum too cheers!
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League I'm pulling for Joe Public FC. Best of luck
Re: Tracking OUR clubs through the CONCACAF Champions League They had a great outing today. CONGRATS!
Yep. Wolf had a great game, really controlled the midfield, and was a great link from defense to attack! Man of the match had to be Richardson who tortured the Revs backline. If our boy Roen Nelson had his finishing boots on Joe Public could have easilly scored 4.
Totally agree. I was impressed wit the Richardson. He caused New England alot of problems. Wolry was good in link up play but Roen Nelson just looked awful. This level of football I saw from JP shows that caribbean club teams are getting better ( leaguewise). Back to Roen..had he converted 6 of those chances this series wouldve been over. From what I saw its clear why he isnt in Simoes' plans. Hopefully Harbourview can also do the business tomorrow gainst UNAM.
I hope the caribbean teams perfrom well so we can have more slots in next year's Champions league over likes of the Belize & Nicaragua clubs.
8/28/2008 - Due to extreme weather conditions related to Hurricane Gustav, CONCACAF has postponed the CONCACAF Champions League™ match scheduled for Thursday, 28 August at 20:00 EST in Kingston, Jamaica between Harbour View FC (JAM) and Pumas UNAM (MEX). Weather permitting the match will be played on Friday, 29 August at 22:00 EST (21:00 local) in Kingston. CONCACAF will continue to monitor the situation and will issue any necessary updates in due course. http://concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4328
Joe Public FC just scored again. Roen Nelson gets the third goal. 3-0. Still alot of time left. This could be a rout.
Final score Joe Public 4 - 0 New England Revs. Joe public advances 6-1 on aggregate. Nice to see a Caribbean team dump an MLS team out of tha Champions League for the first time in MLS history. Now onto the Harbourview tie. Hopefully the same result and a chance at creating history again.
Congrats to Joe Public. I did not see the games but that aggragate score of 6-1 tells me all I need to know. You treated them like Cruz Azul treated Hankook; like the help. Hey I can't believe this is the first time you guys knock out an MLS team? Well get used to it, you guys just set the MLS back ten years, maybe there is a reason they don't choose more of your clubs to participate...hmmm? Goodluck
I'm still in shock! But I am MORE than happy! Big up Joe Public....now through to the group stages! Group C is set Atlante FC CD Olimpia Joe Public FC Montreal Impact
