No doubt a team like Samp would take him. I just have a hard time believing that's what he really wants. I could be wrong, we'll see.
I'll be honest with you, I respectfully disagree. I think the club and the coach created a mess that did not need to exist. They keep finding ways to make Roma feel like just any other team. Totti wasn't hurting anyone coming off the bench here and there. He was fine with it to and doing a good job.
It goes both ways though. Totti also created a mess with his petulant TV interview last season. There is no good way of doing this but make no mistake it has to be done if we're going to be a serious club. I'm sorry but there comes a point that you need to rid yourself of the distraction (and I'm not blaming Totti for being a distraction but he is that at this point).
i can't handle this guys... if anyone needs me, i'll be drowning my sorrows in multiple bottles of scotch...
Amazing this thread sees all of the activity at the end of each season. I can't recall but in which games did he score this year?
I can't be the only one here that wants him to come on, score the game winner at the end, and just walk off the pitch to deafening cheers. Also hopefully realizing he can't/won't play for any other team/fans and retires.
Scenes when Florentino finally gets his man and convinces Totti to sign a one year deal so he can win the Champions League
Those clowns are not on Totti's level, neither are Xavi Pirlo and Del Piero. He is not going to play anywhere else.
I didn't see what ADP did in Australia or India but Pirlo would had been better off staying in Italy warming the bench at Juve or even going back to Brescia. Whatever you want to call it, lower level league, worse class of players or lack of funds, he is simply not cutting it in MLS.
IMO Totti going someplace else to finish his career won't diminish his legacy. What made it special was that he choose to stay at Roma when he could have gone anywhere he wanted. That's not going to change if he decides to play another year in Miami.
But he will not go down as a one-club man if he plays for another team. If he wants to keep on playing whatever the price, then so be it. Roma need to think about life after Totti and Spalletti has helped in that regard.
It doesn't diminish his legacy because Roma pushed him out in my opinion. It still does a bit bit not as much because he didn't just choose to leave. I'm honestly disgusted by the whole situation.
