Wayne Wilson slots home the equalizer in the '68 from about 6 yards after some nice team passing in the box has the Honduran defense scrambling.

    HON 1, CRC 1
    minute 70

Sequeria header off a looping 30 yard free kick hits the outside of the post and goes out for a goal kick. Should have done better.

Only watching when the announcers scream...

Lets see, I can careless about option C,A cause it was a long time ago, so Ill take B, and D. Guatemala has to play costa rica the same as Honduras, our players have to forget about the 5-2 lost years ago, thats what started it all. When you play with that in mind you forget that its just another team from our area, thats why we get the same result.

You know, here is something I wish... That countries will actually care more about this tournament.... I mean I know this year it's kind of hard because of the HEX WCQ but... I wonder what the outcomes would have been had every country used their stars... their "A" team.

GUA was missing only their 2 best forwards, Ruiz and Pesarrozzi
HON and PAN did not miss more than 5 players

the only one that went with a complete alternative team was CR

Guatemala tried many players, we didnt lineup our goalie (klee) defense without (Melgar and chen) midfield without (loco rodriguez and thompson) ruiz and pezzarossi were out i think thats an alternate squad but still no excuses for the lose, congrats morado.

I also hope Pinto changes his colombian defensive style. I really miss the old good times with Guima.

Medford is now Saprissa's coach, i really dont miss him in the nat'l team, but i do miss el pato lopez....he was a very smart play maker, exactly what we need.... and do you know why he quit the nat'l team?
Cuz his WIFE! she made him quit! cause she missed him "a lot" when he had to play outside CR.....this is not a joke, this is true. Besides that, he got a bad injury....but he has been getting some minutes in the last games of alajuela and he said that he wants to comeback for the national team....i hope he makes it, i'll be happy if he plays 30 minutes per game, that all we need from him!

Instead of Romero he should put Sandoval, hes quicker and has better passes, I dont like Romero's style hes slow most of the time and cant come up with a good pass.

Guatemala should just start with against T&T and most other games as:

    Goalkeeper:
    Miguel Klee

    Defense:
    Pablo Melgar
    Nestor Martinez
    Nelson Morales
    Dennis Chen

    Midfield:
    Mario Rodriguez
    Guillermo Ramirez
    Freddy Thompson
    Hernan Sandoval

    Forwards:
    Carlos Ruiz
    Edwin Villatorro

Much better, el venado's faster and has better skills than Pezzarossi, Pezzarossi is needed bacuase of his body though and thats were villatoro loses but I see him doing better with Ruiz on his side. I like Nelson Morales, his a bit better than Gustavo Cabrera but I would take either one of them, I like Quinones in the defense at first but then from what I saw in the game against costa rica I changed my mind but I think he will develop into a better defender than all the ones we have in the starting lineup.

Venado is good but he isnt experienced, pezzarossi does the dirty work for ruiz to shine, he also atracts defenses on corners leaving others available, venado is a good option to come on as a sub, as for morales and cabrera cabrera is faster and has better air game, but morales is more hardworking and consistent.
