we are poised to to take it, we've got a great coach and the proven players to do it , along w fresh talent from our own youth system . the Insua +Riquelme combo in the midfield should be fantastic. Paletta is fully healed and along w/ Caceres should be a great duo in defense . Palermo , Viatri and the three musketeers ; noir, mouche, phillippe .. should be lethal...

caruso has done an a fantastic job at Racing , narrowly missing the fight for the championship because of his midseason tenure. had he been there from the beginning he may have won the championship.. if he can continue to succeed the way he did last season he should be a top contender for the title!

He is definitely giving Racing fans a reason to love their club once again ...

Voted for Boca, as they need to win it to qualify for the Lib'10. A strong reason that adds to the quality.

Too bad Huracan lost some key players ... at least it won't hurt not watching them play as we won't have the games.

I voted for Independiente of course. While we don't have that many big names i think that we can shape a nice team with our players, let's see if Gallego can do that this time.

I wouldn't rule out Lanús, because if they neglect the Sudamericana i think they'll have a very good shot and Estudiantes i think it'll depend on how much they're focused looking towards the CWC. While Boca and River(in a safer position though) need to make a good campaign if they want to play the Libertadores.

Why is Boca up there, they won't win anything for another century.

In all seriousness, do you think River can contend? I know there's talent in their squad, but it seems like a lot depends on the brilliance of Ortega, the organizing of Gallardo, and the scoring of Fabbiani. All three very unreliable at this point in their respective careers, to say the least.

Who is Fabbiani's main backup at CF?

Probably that Velázquez guy, or some youth. I'd say Fabbiani is the most unreliable player of River.

    Last minute adquisitions:

Matias Almeida is back at River. LOL! I guess Mostaza Merlo was not available. :D

Carlos Matheu is back at Independiente. This is not a bad pickup, actually.

Leandro Caruso, formerly of Godoy Cruz, signed for Velez. I'm curious about this one. I wonder if he can play for a top club and be an effective goalscorer.

In reality Matheu has been training with the team for around a month, though he signed his contract just now because Cagliari took too long to decide wether they'd release him or if we were going to pay a fee. Also Ignacio Piatti would begin to train with the team next week.

Yeah, there were a number of great performances this past weekend, but Patito was right there at top. It's scary, he's really starting to look like Kun.

Here is my blog for Fecha 2

    https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/blog.php?b=6505

My top performers of the week were Patito Rodriguez, Burrito Ortega and the yorugua Salgueiro. Tough to leave out Maxi Moralez but I don't want to go over three.

My goats were Gimnasia's Ormeno, and Matias Almeida.

I had to get Almeida into the story. :D

Shit! and here I am trying to educate US fans about Argentine futbol.

They have it listed as a picture of Patito in the diablosrojos blog.

    http://images.google.com/imgres?img...=/images?q=patricio+rodriguez&hl=en&sa=G&um=1

Lets see... Aside from the obvious fact that it looks like German Denis, I should have been tipped by the fact that he is wearing number 19.

To be fair, there is some sort of slight resemblance to Patito in that particular picture. But I still should have caught it. I need an editor!

    So, this is Patito, right?

Ok, thanks. I'll go change the pic.

The Rosario derby preparations are in full gas for the derby on Sunday. The traditional training before the classico called banderazo took place in the Coloso with an attendance of 27 thousand people who came to the training.
