There's a fairly lengthy list of Madrid managers who never won a Champions League even with all that money. Zizu's willingness to adapt and use that roster to its fullest potential rather than trying to force a team to play his system stands out in stark contrast to the guy he replaced, Rafa Benitez.
Not saying he's not a good manager, but he also didn't have to face Barca in the Champion's last year.
Because Barca wasn't good enough to make the final. There's more than two teams in Europe, or so I'm told.
Not according to Fox Soccer's Facebook feed - they only cover Real Madrid, Barca and occasionally someone else like Dortmund.
And Barca lost their QF matchup as part of what turned out to be a late season malaise. Madrid beat them with 10 men at the Camp Nou in April right before Atletico booted them from the CL. That team went as far as it was going.
And it's a burden trying to keep up with all these cups and competitions they play for. UEFA Super Cup? Club World Cup? Fans of middling-to-bad teams have a lot more free time.
