He is a forward and his game suffers when forced to play as a traditional winger. My fundamental point is that Ronaldo and Messi have been in the same position for the UEFA team every season until now. Why the change? I have given my explanation and, thus far, no-one has been able to dispute it or offer anything better.

Apart maybe of Mascherano, I'm not big fan of neither of the other 4 in my list because aren't my favorites, just only the best I believe.

I'd put Maxi Rodríguez in a Top 10 surely.

I don't get one thing... If Cambiasso and Buffon are ahead of Pato in your 'Italian league' ranking, why they don't appear in your 'right now' rank (once Pato is also there)?

Ibrahimovic (and Inter for that matter) is a chronic CL choker. I also see you still have a hard-on for Del Piero...

On a side-note, why the f*ck did you bump this thread?

in the right now list, i dont include GK....someone made a big deal about it in previous post.

in the cambiasso note, i didnt put him in the right now list because he is not doing good lately but in the Italian league is for all the season.

so if I have a hard-on for Del Piero that means you have one for Messi?

i had to bring it back alive bloke xD

At least Messi has played well enough to be worthy of me having a hard-on for him :p

Messi has a legitimate claim to best player in the world (based on his play this season). Del Piero doesn't.

getting alves helped  w/o him barca would not be playing the same way and del peiro has always been the best player in juventus and scores far better goals then the overrated midget. He scores from free-kicks, head shoots, and many other ways unlike messi.

good list, nice to see a defender xD

before the man utd games i think that everyone would have listed ibra in the top 3

    no Johan Cruyff???????? xD

Despite current form, and considering players still somewhat in their prime (so sorry Totti and Giggs):

    in no order
    - Messi
    - Kaka
    - C. Ronaldo
    - Gerrard
    - Ibrahimovic

Anyone who follows the Serie A knows why Ibra is on this list, despite his poor CL credentials. Honourable mentions go to Torres, Fabregas and De Rossi.
But 2 years from now Pato will be a class above anyone on that list, including Messi.

Why bother when he can just dribble past a bunch of defenders and score?

I know, right? A real peach of a goal, even if it is against Malaga.
