    Attempts to rank a large number of individual players at this age are ridiculous.

    I would wager TDS are aware of the ridiculousness, but it's still fun to read, which is the point.

    Yes, exactly: Readers like rankings and "best of" lists, etc., even though they are subjective and silly. To say that one good player is 16th best in the country while another is 49th best is crazy.I think publications/websites should drop the numerical list and just group the "best players" by position--the top 15 forwards, top 15 defenders, mids, etc.

    Fair idea but it's less clickable that way : / The best approach is to look at the list and say "huh, neat."

    They can have all kinds of different Top 100, or Top 10 lists.
