My two cents on recovery. Training and recovery are one in the same. http://www.thetotalsoccerplayer.com/blog/how-to-recover-after-hard-soccer-practices-or-games
Well a lot of high end teams train 5 days a week. In my oppionion this is crazy. Off season we train 3 days a week and a cool down. During the season we train 2 days a week and end with a cool down. We took Ice baths and or Epsom baths at home. My club had a team masseur he also was the club historian. My favorite way to relax after a match was going to Rao's on east 114 street on pleasant Ave for their fantastic meatballs and lemon chicken. Then the whole place would sing Songs what a life.
