Rapid lost at Grödig, while Salzburg won at Austria. With three rounds to go, Salzburg enjoys a nine-point lead and a +16 better goal difference. Still not mathematically clinched, but for all intents and purposes, Red Bull will be crowned for the third time in a row. They've now taken seven of the last ten Bundesliga titles and are clearly the heavyweights in Austria. The historically dominant Rapid and Austria are left to pick up the crumbs...

Not only has Red Bull Salzburg won three Bundesliga titles in a row, but it looks like Salzburg's Jonathan Soriano is poised to win his third goalscorer title in a row. He currently sits on 21 goals, four ahead of Austria's Alexander Gorgon. Soriano wasn't as prolific as his 31 goals the last two years, but he also missed seven matches this season.

Soriano sat out the final two matches but still held on for the scoring title. Alexander Gorgon narrowed the gap to two and finished with 19 goals.
Poor Grödig was not only relegated, but they have now informed the Bundesliga that they're going to have to decline a professional license for next year. That means they won't feature in the Erste Liga. Grödig may land in the Regionalliga West, but that remains to be seen. Very difficult for a small club to grow in the shadow of Red Bull Salzburg. Both Grödig and Austria Salzburg have wilted...
In the Erste Liga today, St. Pölten won at Wiener Neustadt to clinch promotion with one round remaining. St. Pölten was also a semifinalist in this year's cup, so they're going to be a solid addition to the Bundesliga.
